What is docfox?
DocFox is a patient portal built specifically for medical practices in Switzerland. It gives a practice one platform for the three interactions that generate the most inbound phone calls: repeat medication orders, document and photo exchange, and appointment booking.
What patients can do
- Order repeat medication from their own medication plan, with stock availability checked against Galexis and master data from HCI Solutions (INDEX/Galdat)
- Send and receive documents and photos over an encrypted channel instead of email
- Book, reschedule and cancel appointments, including recurring series appointments
- Join end-to-end encrypted video consultations, or choose in-person and telephone slots
- Use the browser portal or the installable iOS/Android app with barcode scanner
What the practice gets
- Orders and documents land in the practice information system, not in a shared mailbox
- Prescriptions are transmitted to pharmacies by HIN-Mail using the official HIN directory
- Decision-tree booking logic that routes each patient to the right appointment type and duration
- Multi-calendar scheduling, holiday and absence management, PIS synchronisation
- SMS and WhatsApp notifications that keep patients informed without staff effort
- A no-code admin interface for colours, fonts, backgrounds and themes, so the portal matches the practice website
- AI-assisted setup: a working portal in about 30 minutes, with no IT project

Practice information systems: Axenita, Vitodata, Aeskulap, Elexis, triamed, Vitomed, Ametiq. Swiss healthcare ecosystem: HIN and the HIN directory, HCI Solutions INDEX/Galdat, Swissmedic registry, Galexis. Open interfaces: FHIR, plus CTI/telephony connectivity.
Security and compliance
Hosted in Swiss data centres. nDSG-compliant by design, aligned with FMH recommendations and the HIN charter. Key material protected in FIPS 140-2 Level 3 HSMs. Infrastructure certified to ISO 27001 and ISO 27018, with SOC 2 Type II. AI processing stays in Switzerland.
Availability and support
Cloud service, used in any browser and as a native app on iOS and Android. Product and support in German. Onboarding, data import and configuration are handled by the DocFox team. Currently offered to practices in Switzerland.
