Freed overview

What is Freed?

Freed is a cloud-based AI scribe and clinician assistant built for independent clinicians, small-to-mid-sized practices, and group practices across 30+ medical specialties, including primary care, emergency medicine, behavioral health, and occupational therapy. During patient visits, ambient audio capture feeds automatic speech recognition trained on clinical terminology, medications, dosages, and abbreviations. Large language models then filter and structure the transcript into specialty-specific SOAP and progress notes, with AI hallucination scanning applied to check for inconsistencies. Notes sync across a web app, iOS app, Android app, and Chrome extension, and push into any browser-based EHR in one click. Tiered plans run from $39/month (Starter) to $119/month (Premier), with group and student discounts available and a 7-day free trial requiring no credit card.

Beyond note generation, Freed covers the full clinical workflow. Pre-visit AI summaries compile patient history, follow-up items, and condensed prior notes before each appointment. An in-note AI Chat assistant answers clinical questions drawn from 50+ verified medical sources with linked citations, and surfaces patient-specific history, symptom summaries, and medication history. ICD-10, CPT, and HCC code suggestions are derived directly from visit audio and transcript, with each code mapped to specific conversational evidence to flag potential undercoding. After each visit, patient-facing instructions, referral letters, and exception notes are generated automatically. A Front Desk AI handles inbound calls after hours, during lunch, and for overflow, triaging patients and routing messages via voice AI.

Freed is HIPAA-compliant, HITECH-compliant, and SOC 2 Type 1 and 2 certified. Audio recordings are auto-deleted by default, and PHI is isolated, encrypted, and access-controlled. PHI is not used to train AI models. Onboarding requires no setup fees and no IT involvement, with same-day activation available. The platform targets independent practices, community health centers, and specialty and group practices; it is not positioned for large hospital systems or enterprise health networks.
