Homerun overview
What is Homerun?
Homerun is an electrical takeoff and estimating tool for Australian electrical contractors, built by Whitecrow in Manly, NSW. It has no connection to the recruitment software of the same name. An estimator drops in the drawing set exactly as the architect issued it, and Homerun reads the plans, schedules, riser diagrams and legend, then marks and counts each device, fixture and switchboard by system using the contractor's own legend. Conduit and cable runs are measured. Each count links back to the mark it came from, so checking a quantity means opening the sheet at that spot. Ambiguous symbols are flagged, never guessed, and manual overrides are kept with the change recorded. Quantities are then priced from the contractor's own catalogue, part numbers and rates, with material, labour and line totals by code, and can be exported to an existing estimate template.
