Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

Noticky overview
What is Noticky?
Noticky is a native macOS menu bar application for creating sticky notes and floating visual references that remain visible across all workspace contexts. The application uses AppKit and SwiftUI frameworks and addresses a limitation in the built-in Stickies app by maintaining note visibility even when any application enters fullscreen mode. It targets professionals who require continuous access to reference materials, code snippets, meeting notes, checklists and visual assets while working in immersive environments. The design emphasises minimising interruptions and preserving workflow context without the need to switch windows or toggle applications.
Noticky features a window level control that ensures notes appear above all other applications and uses a global hotkey to invoke a quick capture interface from any context. The markdown live rendering engine supports multiple heading levels, bold, italic, strikethrough, list items, code blocks and inline code without switching to a preview mode. The sticky screenshot feature allows capturing any screen region and converting it into a floating image overlay with adjustable opacity, click-through capability, corner rounding and zoom controls. A privacy feature excludes selected notes from screenshots, recordings and screen sharing while retaining local visibility. The checklist system synchronises with Apple Reminders to maintain completion status and the calendar feature enables mentioning events, displaying details and executing quick actions within notes.
Organisational tools in Noticky include three layout modes for free placement, cascading stacks and grid arrangements, all switchable through defined shortcuts. Smart tags with colour coding provide rapid filtering and retrieval of notes based on user defined categories. Touch ID authentication secures sensitive notes and a trash retention system preserves deleted notes for thirty days. The application offers templates for recurring note formats, right-to-left text rendering for bidirectional languages, collapsing notes to reduce screen footprint and a fade effect for inactive items. A unified toggle reveals or hides all notes instantly across the workspace.
Noticky synchronises notes across multiple macOS devices through end-to-end encrypted iCloud integration, storing changes locally and reconciling them upon network reconnection. Export options support document formats including PDF, Markdown and plain text for data portability and external system compatibility. Input methods encompass manual typing, importing via the system share menu and converting clipboard content into overlays or new notes. PopClip integration allows converting selected text into new notes without leaving the current application. Operating exclusively from the menu bar, the application minimises interface clutter and delivers native performance by eschewing cross-platform frameworks in favour of optimised system integration.
