Our commitment
Independent research methodology
Our researchers use a mix of verified reviews, independent research, and objective methodologies to bring you selection and ranking information you can trust. While we may earn a referral fee when you visit a provider through our links or speak to an advisor, this has no influence on our research or methodology.
Verified user reviews
GetApp maintains a proprietary database of millions of in-depth, verified user reviews across thousands of products in hundreds of software categories. Our data scientists apply advanced modeling techniques to identify key insights about products based on those reviews. We may also share aggregated ratings and select excerpts from those reviews throughout our site.
Our human moderators verify that reviewers are real people and that reviews are authentic. They use leading tech to analyze text quality and to detect plagiarism and generative AI.
How GetApp ensures transparency
GetApp lists all providers across its website—not just those that pay us—so that users can make informed purchase decisions. GetApp is free for users. Software providers pay us for sponsored profiles to receive web traffic and sales opportunities. Sponsored profiles include a link-out icon that takes users to the provider’s website.

Redactic overview
What is Redactic?
Redactic is a cloud-based, GDPR-compliant document redaction and pseudonymisation platform hosted on European infrastructure (Hetzner Helsinki, Cloudflare R2 EU jurisdiction). It automatically detects and removes or replaces personally identifiable information (PII) across PDF (digital and scanned), DOCX, XLSX, CSV, TXT, and photo file formats before documents are shared or routed through AI models. Target users include independent freelancers, small professional teams, law firms, notarial offices, HR and payroll departments, accounting and tax advisory firms, and public administrations. Plans scale from Solo (single user) through Firm (up to 50 users) to Enterprise (unlimited users, dedicated or single-tenant infrastructure, on-premises available on request).
Redactic offers two core redaction modes: reversible masking (pseudonymisation), which replaces sensitive values with placeholders and restores real values locally in the browser after AI processing, and permanent anonymisation (blackout), which irreversibly removes PII directly in the document including scanned PDFs via OCR. PII detection combines multilingual named-entity recognition (GLiNER multilingual model), linguistic algorithms, and national-identifier regex patterns covering 17 country formats. Supported PII types include full names, organisations, postal addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, IBANs, credit card numbers, VAT numbers, tax IDs, social security numbers, passports, driving licences, health insurance cards, and country-specific identifiers such as Codice Fiscale, NIR, Steuer-ID, and DNI/NIE. OCR support via Tesseract (English, Italian, French, German, Spanish) extends detection to scanned documents and photos. A manual review console lets users inspect, accept, or reject each detected entity before redaction is applied. Excel processing redacts string cells per sheet while preserving formulas, numbers, and formatting. Metadata stripping removes hidden tags, author information, and revision history from output files.
Redactic integrates a secure AI chat channel and document workflow pipeline that routes only masked placeholder text to leading AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Mistral) on EU endpoints with zero retention and no training on user content; real values are restored client-side after each AI response. Documents pass through encrypted in-memory storage (Redis with Fernet encryption and short TTL) and are destroyed after each job with no content logged or persisted. Every redaction job produces a downloadable SHA-256 audit certificate usable as legal-grade evidence. A Data Processing Agreement is automatically generated at sign-up. Unlimited masking and anonymisation are included across all subscription tiers without page-count credit consumption.
