Sermon Registry overview

What is Sermon Registry?

Sermon Registry is a cloud-based, web-based public archive for discovering Christian sermons and the churches that publish them. Accessible without an account, the platform aggregates sermons from YouTube channels, playlists, and direct submissions, enriching each record with structured metadata including scripture references, topical tags, categories, Bible characters, key takeaways, and read-time estimates. Search and browse tools cover scripture passage, topic, preacher, church, denomination, date, language, Bible book and chapter, genre, and sermon series. A guided discovery tool (Find a Sermon) surfaces relevant content through four short questions, requiring no login. Every submission undergoes human review before publication, maintaining archive accuracy and consistency.

Sermon Registry serves individual Christians, seminary students, ministers, pastors, and seekers, as well as church administrators managing a congregation's public preaching record. Churches of any size and denomination can claim a free profile, import existing YouTube content in bulk, and manage sermon records, publication status, and AI-generated metadata through a dedicated administrator dashboard. AI extracts clean transcripts from raw YouTube captions and generates structured metadata fields; administrators can review, correct, approve, or reject any AI-generated content before it is published. Verified administrator access is granted within a two-working-day review process.

Initially focused on UK churches and expanding globally, Sermon Registry supports multilingual content and cross-denominational discovery. Registered users access My Library for saving sermons and churches, tracking completed sermons, and setting discovery preferences. The platform is free for browsing, discovery, church profile management, and sermon submission, positioning Sermon Registry as a durable, searchable public record of a church's full preaching history.
