What is Roam.ai?
Roam.ai enables developers to integrate location tracking and related functionality in mobile devices. The functionality can be built into mobile apps using the software development kits (SDKs). Location coordinates are determined using the GPS chips inside mobile devices. If devices are offline, data is stored temporarily and sent when the devices are back online.
There are four tracking modes available. The most active tracking mode records the coordinates every 25 to 250 meters. The least active tracking mode records the coordinates every 100 to 1,000 meters, and provides an optimized usage in terms of battery consumption.
APIs are available with the SDK, which allows users to add a host of functions such as geofencing, tracking trips, or localizing other users. The Insights module provides detailed tracking to identify points of interest within a neighborhood or a predefined geographic area.
The software can be used in the cloud or installed on-site. When installed on-site, a virtual private cloud integrates into the company's infrastructure. The software gets stored in a cloud server hosted by Amazon Web Services.
