Pros

“It helps me produce client-ready software overviews much faster than traditional video editors do, and features like cursor smoothing and callouts add a polished, professional feel without requiring a lengthy editing process.”

Jerrid C.

CEO

“It has significantly reduced the time I spend creating administrative documentation by allowing me to replace lengthy written PRDs with concise, high-fidelity video walkthroughs.”

Jerrid C.

CEO

“The AI voice generation took so much editing of the script to get emphasis in the right places, and still so clearly sounded like AI - I did a comparison with ElevenLabs, expecting similar results, and found that I didn't need to make any edits to the original script to get back something that sounded far more natural.”

Administrative Assistant but helping with Learning Resource production

Pros

“There's a huge resource library of background music (including Asian themed tracks which is important ot me - PD seems particularly keen to cater to Japanese market with fonts and music ) as well as Shutterstock video/images that come with your subscription. ”

vaughan j.

Storyteller

“It also has a lot of useful tools, such as chroma key or animated transitions that can be tuned and keyframed to your desire.”

Shaun W.

I do everything

“Powerdirector offers a very substantial free version.”

Craig B.

Managing director

Cons

“It also lacks the advanced editing capabilities you find in other software similar to it.”

Jean-Pierre N.

Instructional Designer

“The technical support group is not there on Fridays and the telephone hotline doesn't work. If you buy a Techsmith product, you will need to figure it out on your own.”

Scott C.

Director Research and Development

“The audio recording is terrible, I don't like how the license is tied in with a version so in order to collaborate across teams, everyone has to be on identical versions, I also don't love having to edit an old Camtasia project as a project file has a ton of directories associated and can get corrupted very easily.”

Monica B.

Product Manager

Cons

“I have never gotten a clear answer about why my app will be fully logged in as full version sometimes and then other times it cannot find my license. When I request help or ask questions, I get brushed off or told to just clear my cache or log out of all other emails in the android system before it will be recognized.”

Frankie S.

Consultant

“Also on older versions when editing large videos the application would just crash over and over and ultimately because of that (and the watermark) I had to switch to another video editor.”

Shaun W.

I do everything

“Also, I've never been able to go back to a saved project to make changes.”
