Useful for saving offline divices

2018-09-20

I use it all of the time for file sharing, and prefer it to WeTransfer.

Pros

I like that I can share files easily, edit and collaborate with other writers in real time in digital format.

Cons

I don't like that video files are hard to load on mobile - on computer it looks fine, but the mobile version can be clunky and not as reliable for videos.

Google Drive is a great tool, even better if you know how to work it

2018-07-11

Pros

Google Drive is great for sharing documents among team members - its also good for sharing huge files versus using a service like WeTransfer

Cons

Its kind of confusing to use, at times. Once you push through the UI quirks, its a great tool, but there is a minor learning curve.

Awesome tool

2018-08-19

quick and easy to get up to speed and start using, feel like it is the new standard for file sharing, storage/backup.

Pros

I am starting to feel like I use this more than dropbox and for sure more than transfer services like wetransfer.

Cons

Have not found anything I don't like about it yet.

Decent storage, hard to share

2019-01-21

The amount of free storage is great, but the rough edges make me prefer dropbox or wetransfer for their relative ease of use when it comes to sharing files with collaborators.

Pros

It's easy to upload files, and easy to access files from the mobile app as well. Great amount of storage space.

Cons

Hard to share files through gmail, privacy permissions always seem to fail. Downloads are wonky, sometimes splitting files up into multiple downloads or not opening at all.

Google Drive, the best cloud storage service available in 2018

2018-10-25

No more wetransfers for other clustered programs that tend to upload, send link to your email and then you don't have control over that link after shared.

Pros

1. The real time sharing of everything in the selected folders 2. The shareable link that can be easily created and controlled by the owner of the folder 3. The integration with gmail and android 4. The ease of use with google docs, sheets and other substitutes for microsoft office 5. The ease of uploading and use of microsoft office programs 6. The convenience of having every gmail account with a drive attached to it.

Cons

1. Switching from different drives can be a pain. Some people have more than one (1) email address and when switching from one drive to another, instead of closing that drive and opening on the same window, it usually open in another tab. There should be an option at the start to select what you want to do as I can see this being useful for some people but because I have several email addresses I manage, I don't want several tabs and have to find the one I want.

The best way to easily transfer large files

2019-03-25

Pros

As part of a creative team, there are a lot of instances where we need to send large files back and forth, sometimes we stick to WeTransfer, but for larger files than 2GB we use Google Drive.

Cons

Not a fault of the app, but Google's ecosystem... having multiple google accounts can get screwy when trying to access files sent to a different account.

I ACTUALLY PAY FOR GOOGLE DRIVE!

2019-03-21

It's great! You can create shareable documents, spreadsheets, folders etc, allowing multiple people to work on a project in tandem. It's truly a great software.

Pros

Further, I use Google Drive instead using Dropbox/ WeTransfer when I'm sending larger files.

Cons

I full on love using Google Drive but I guess the downside would be that I have to pay for it. That being said, it is such a nominal fee for the 100GB of space that that doesn't feel like a true complaint. I can't imagine a situation where I need much more storage than that since I'm constantly cycling out old materials but I'll cross that bridge if/when it arrives.

Great file transfer for spontaneous situations

2019-04-13

Pros

Straightforward design and nice inspiring illustrations, when uploading content.

One of the best options for single large files

2019-03-10

We often use WeTransfer to send large project files to our clients, because of its' ease of use, and great upload/download speeds.

Pros

WeTransfer is dead simple to use, and no account is needed for a single file up to 2GB. It's the easiest solution to email a file to colleagues/clients if you don't have an online storage account like Box, OneDrive, etc. Once your file is uploaded, it'll automatically send the file out to your recipients as well, no messy links to deal with!

Cons

It's not really a direct competitor to file storages like Google Drive, Box, etc. - If you're looking to manage, store, and organize multiple files, you'll have to use a different platform

WeTransfer in my work

2019-03-03

In my work many times my clients need to send me very heavy information and they do not want to use another method like Google drive, since they feel that they dirty their space.

Pros

-Your functionality is basic and simple -Allows sending the file to several people -It lets you send files up to 2GB for free

Cons

-Maximum you can have 20 recipients (although it is very strange that you need more) -It is dangerous to send confidential files

The best way to transfer bigger files

2019-02-04

Pros

Even people who don't use Dropbox or Google Drive can use WeTransfer.

Cons

Nothing to report actually. I like the system and how it works. And, bonus, there is interesting content to read and watch once you're done with your transfer. I mean, I know they're ads, but it's genuinely interesting content about creatives, and the arts and design world, so I'm not going to complain.
