Pros

Very positive experience - any successful business would find significant efficiencies and opportunities by moving to 365.
I love how secure the platform is, the software is easy to navigate. I love the fact that it is accessable worldwide.
We utilize all that the product has to offer on a daily basis and are quite happy with the product. It helps us manage our business better and provides the tools necessary to communicate effectively.

Pros

Love it, love it love it. As a small business, it has al of the tools we need to run and operate our business.
My overall experience with Google Workspace has been great. There are so many useful tools within it and it is perfect for a business owner.
A really great place to work out of, ease of use is 10/10, and just really a workplace's best friend.

Cons

This is the sort of thing the hard drive resident application never struggled with. Conditional formatting layered up is the sort of thing that causes problems.
Sometimes i get logged out and have trouble logging back in. This is very rare but can be confusing and upsetting as everything is on there.
I hate, hate, hate, hate the fact that you cannot install each app on its own. It is pointless to force people who only need Excel or Word to install EVERYTHING.

Cons

For example, inserting code into a google doc is sometimes ugly and extremely inconvenient. I imagine there are other similar specialized use cases that should be added.
We did run into occasional glitches and bugs, especially where access permissions are concerned, which can be a problem.
At times when files are imported from external apps such as Microsoft 360 for example there are loss of formatting and data types which is inconvenient.

It can do many things, but I prefer Google Workspace

Reviewed 3 years ago

POWER POINT: We can create presentations quite flexibly, but I use other product that's specific in Presentation (Google Slide) EXCEL: I use Google Sheet to replace this, as it has better compatibility with any devices (online) plus teamwork. (Google Sheet) WORD: Good Docs is also easier to connect. (Google Docs) Therefore, recently I rarely use this software. But for a serious and complex task, I might use this.

Pros

- Have been using this as part of Microsoft Office family. I'm used to it. - High compatibility for various file format

Cons

- Design is not as beautiful as Google's workspace - Not as easy as Google Workspace in collaboration - Slightly more expensive compared to Google

I prefer O365 to Google for Email

Reviewed 2 years ago
Pros

Overall everything we needed was met by O365 - when we switched to Google everyone at my company was frustrated. Something about Google email is less satisfying than O365s, especially that there is no way to PIN certain emails to the top of your inbox, and the threads get really messy on Google

Cons

I much prefer this product to Google Workspace

Complicated and not user-friendly

Reviewed 3 years ago

I prefer not to use MS365 given the other options there are.

Pros

I like that our team can share documents, collaborate, make/view real time edits, and use Word, Excel, Powerpoint which are universal.

Cons

Not very user-friendly, so many products, doesn't seem streamlined or as easy to navigate/use as Google Workspace. Rather just use the individual MS Suite and Google Workspace or Dropbox.

Seven year user of Office 365 & Microsoft 365

Reviewed 3 years ago

Overall we are pleased with MS 365 and it is an important tool for us. Many of our clients do not use Google tools, especially outside the US (or often even in the US). It is not an inconvenience for us to use both Google and MS tools. We use them situationally and depending on client preferences. MS 365 is a quality product overall with some downsides, no different than alternatives.

Pros

With the improvement of synchronous collaboration and autosave features Microsoft 365 has made rapid gains on Google Suite (Google Workspace). We use both Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. Microsoft 365 is our go-to tool when we need more rich features and functionality, especially for spreadsheets. Google Sheets is still far behind the capability of MS Excel. Note, that when accessing Microsoft 365 via the web interface (more like the Google experience) the features of 365 on the web are much fewer than when using the desktop app.

Cons

Our users are all on macOS, and these comments apply to that OS, not Windows. Some features are still missing and subpar in the macOS versions of Microsoft 365 (access via the apps). And the web version of MS 365 tools are much more limited than the apps. However, when using the apps on your laptop or desktop MS365 does manage collaboration and autosaving well—but you must use MS OneDrive for storing your files for that to work at all, which is a downside if you prefer different cloud storage. Also, the macOS apps are very CPU and RAM hungry even relative to newer model Macbooks.

I've had a great overall experience with the office 365.

Pros

Office 365 is a great option for managing managing, creating, and sharing documents and files in the workplace. I like all of the features and functionality that come with this come with this office suit.

Cons

Office 365 is a bit more confusing yet feature rich, compared to Google Docs and Googles Workspace/Offic suite that feels much more unified and easy to use.

Collaborate and communicate

Reviewed 2 years ago

As a teacher I was provided free access to Microsoft 365 suit, so my review will reflect that. I was able to use the suit to collaborate with teachers and students. Some of the tools were not as user friendly as it could be but I was still able to be productive with it.

Pros

Industry standard tools that most persons are familiar with ( Word, PowerPoint, Excel etc.)

Cons

Could be glitchy at time causing a decrease in productivity. Can be a bit more expensive than other options like Google Workspace. Not always user friendly and easy to use.

Microsoft is still top of the line, but Google is rapidly catching up

Reviewed 3 years ago

We switched from 365 to Google Workspace simply due to cost effectiveness and Workspace's potential to significantly speed up our work flow with its app integration and user-friendly design.

Pros

Its Microsoft, so in terms of document generation and management, email , notes and presentation creation it is still the gold standard. The sharing/collaboration feature has gotten much more user friendly. OneDrive can be housed as a local folder on your computer for seamless syncing to the cloud, and their Microsoft Online products are totally free and have almost all the same features as the desktop tools (almost). The mobile apps are really solid, they obviously don't have all the advanced functions, but so responsive and user friendly. With newer versions of Word, you can convert PDFs directly to .docx files and edit them, its so much faster than using a third party tool to convert and edit, and most of the time the format of the PDF is not heavily effected.

Cons

I don't even know if these are cons, so much as areas in which 365 has been surpassed by Workspace (Google). You cannot collaborate with anyone who does not have a Microsoft subscription or account and it is still the most expensive package on the market for document management and cloud solutions. Its apps aren't nearly as seamlessly integrated into one another as you will find in Google. In today's highly remote workforce, video conferencing/meeting is essential and Microsoft's more expensive 365 package does not include a video meeting solution, whereas Workspace does.

Microsoft 365 is a powerful suite of software for your office

Reviewed 3 years ago

Overall, Office 365 is a stable workhorse software suite that has several great products. While it's a good product it could benefit from a UX update and revised pricing model to be more competitive with Google Workspace.

Pros

When we started using Office 365, it was because many of our clients were using the software already and we wanted to be able to easily hand off files to them. Over time we started utilizing other products in the software suite that made out day to day operations easier, such as Outlook and Teams. This helped productivity and communications companywide.

Cons

The UX of Office 365 still feels like a legacy product that hasn't be updated. Products like Word and Excel are bloated programs that could be streamlined to run more efficiently. Overall the pricing of Office 365 is quite a bit more expensive than similar products from Apple and Google.

Best tool for users to collaborate

Reviewed 6 years ago
Pros

Since its synced to MS Excel it is definitely the best tool. As all spreadsheet tools are compared to excel and all of them are lacking. Hence allowing collaboration with MS Excel is a huge plus adding further benefits to an extremely strong product (MS Excel)

Cons

Unfortunately for Microsoft Gmail is prevalent across most places. Hence this creates resistance as people outside the workspace who are using gmail.com or gmail for work mail prefer to use google drive for sharing as opposed to Office 365.

Good alternative to google sheets for those more comfortable with office

Reviewed 5 years ago

I've used Office 365 in situations where the features from Google Drive were not enough or I was using files that originated from Office. Its still the same office I'm used to but finally making strides towards a cloud based workspace.

Pros

Office 365 is basically Microsoft office but with the online features of Google Drive so it was nice to have the full Office Suite available at all times.

Cons

Compared to Google Drive Office 365 is a bit clunkier to use and share and the interface is less simplistic.

Great Support. But you might need it A LOT (which sucks)

Reviewed 2 years ago

Set up was a royal pain. I had a personal account, and migrating to a work account was a dreadful experience. I used their help many times, and while they do give excellent service (I would get a call and be hand held through the process), the whole thing is SOOOO complex and convoluted, it made me waste many precious hours just getting things set up.

Pros

I tried moving from Google Workspace because I really like Microsoft Office products, and was hoping to use Bookings as a replacement for Calendly (look at the cons, Bookings is not included for free if you want to charge clients directly within the app).

Cons

Microsoft is geared towards enterprise clients who probably want to severely limit the amount of sharing that happens outside the organization. If you need to share an collaborate with people outside of your org. this is not a good solution, it was the main reason I had to get out. Their Spam filter is very aggressive, I had to constantly check for stuff there, and this was a real drag.

Finally Microsoft does it

Reviewed 3 years ago

Microsoft has always had the best and feature-rich office productivity software, but being able to work in the Cloud made Google a better solution for many people until recently. Microsoft finally made Office work in the cloud properly. It took a few tries, and a few years, but they finally got it right. Microsoft 365 (formally Office365, formally Office) finally works in the cloud, and Microsoft has put themselves back on top. I've been a daily user of Microsoft Office since 1990. I've also been a daily user of Google Workspace (formally G-Suite, formally Google Apps) since 2006. I have trained thousands and taught both for decades. I still use both Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 on a daily basis and am glad that Office finally works in the Cloud now.

Pros

Microsoft finally makes Office work properly in the Cloud. I can use industry standard Word docs and Excel spreadsheets and finally use and share them in the cloud.

Cons

Microsoft change things too often and either break things or make them difficult to find. Like most Microsoft software, it's still a little buggy. It's problematic at times, and a bit more complicated that necessary.

Office 365 Standard Outlook, Calendar, Spreadsheets, Documents. Good overall. Great compatibility.

Reviewed 8 days ago

Overall good. Do your homework if you are comparing to other services on deployment. Products are great and most people are familiar with them making them easy to deploy. I recommend it but look at all your options.

Pros

Word, excel, outlook, etc. is a standard so having these tools are great for collaboration. Same look and old school office products that we are all used to. Great industry compatibility.

Cons

Not much innovation. Same old Office products with a different name. Outlook still using pst for storage. Archiving is meh. Cumbersome and too many options for the average user on all products. Google workspace is innovative and most options are set up by default without configuration.

Best for a large organization

Reviewed 3 years ago
Pros

Microsoft 365 is very expensive, but it comes with all that i need for business related feature and making sure we having a smooth sailing in collaborating on work, project and communication. It is also comes with a very large size of OneDrive cloud storage for free.

Cons

Apart from the price, Microsoft has building a very responsive workspace software that managing and collaboration on project and task between a team, or cross department is possible. Some of the workspace software will be so chaotic after deployed on a large user, but not with Microsoft 365.

Improvement over previous versions - still challenging for collaboration among teams

Reviewed 2 years ago

While there has been significant improvements with the product over the years, the high memory usage and inability to collaborate simultaneously with peers makes it a much weaker choice than competition.

Pros

The newer feature that automatically Designs PowerPoint slides with existing content on the slide is incredible. The icons it chooses are incredibly relevant, aesthetically impressive, and variety of designs available is fantastic. This helps a non-artist like myself put together professional looking presentations quickly and with artistic ability I could not otherwise generate.

Cons

Collaboration online between multiple parties is still incredibly weak. This is the main reason most everyone I know has moved to Google workspace. The amount of memory utilized to just use the application is so high I have to restart my computer regularly and I have a fairly new mac. The fact that I have to leave the document for my colleague to edit it online feels very 20 years ago.

I really enjoy using Microsoft products for business and personal needs.

Pros

I got this product for free through my school University of Illinois. I would not want any other software for my computer and I love using it for personal and school use.

Cons

It is not good for collaborating compared to google products like google sheets and google documents.

All in One

Reviewed a year ago

Very easy to use, easier than Microsoft, i enjoy both services, but Office has its issues sometimes. Easier to share files and have it edit on the cloud.

Pros

This platform is pretty much all in one, from your mail, cloud, documents, meetings, that is very straightforward and easy to use. The best thing about this is how everything within your company and or team can be shared easily all under one account instead of having so many different apps, and websites, etc.. the productivity is so much better.

Cons

Less storage then Microsoft 365 for the same price.
