I used to love Word, but now I am coveted to the cloud and Word doesn't take me there. Plus I need to purchase vs online free? No brainer.
Have to pay. The online Google docs is free.

I have used MS word for over 3 years and I liked its elaborate functionality. But I needed to open an outlook account separately for this, which wasn't great.
The number of fonts, symbols, integrations, etc. are great
not as light and versatile as google docs. Need outlook account

Overall it is clunky and I switched to google docs
While this is a solid tool, technology has evolved and Microsoft word has not adapted to the change. It is user-friendly for basic document editing and has basic templates for flyers, newsletters, etc
Products that integrate with Microsoft word are pricey and the collaboration tools are not competitive against google docs.

It will always be there when our internet connection is down. And the latest office 365 advancements has been good.
Word has always been there, ever since i was in 1st grade and messing around with it and then later when i was doing homework on it. It is really easy to use, we are all very familiar with the interface and you don't need internet connection.
After getting introduced to Google Docs, nothing has ever been the same. Google Docs does everything you need from Word and is much more useful because of how easy it is to work with different people using Google Drive.

It has its downsides, but overall I'm very content with the product,
In comparison to Google Docs, which is the main competitor in my way, I like that I can work offline. Also, there are more ways of good editing work and abstract management. I also like the way comments are displayed more than in Google Docs. In many ways, it's really easy to use. Since I've worked so long with, I already now where every feature is located etc.
Giving access to a word document is not as easy as with Google Docs. Also, layouting is sometimes really infuriating. Also, Google Docs can be used for free, in contrast to Word.

Excellent experience. I will continue using it, even over Google Docs.
The endless features and tools to customize a document. The possibility to share it very easily. It's integration with One Drive.
The online Word app is difficult to use. Sometimes I'm not sure if my document was saved or not. The tool for recovering unsaved documents and changes could be improved.

Disappointing especially the cost of it. Google docs is way better
I like how powerful it is as a tool. Lots of features and also the original doc software
It’s frustrating at times, hard to find different tools. Also when I attach a doc via email, I have to close the whole program down! Just frustrating to use and not good enough

It meets expectations, but ever since using Google Docs, I prefer that instead of Microsoft Word.
The software is what I grew up on so it's familiar. It has pretty much anything modern marketers need to write, edit, and customize documents.
The sharing of documents capability is not as intuitive as Google Docs, for example.

I think i've been using it starting with Office 95 but never got to play with the new toys of Office 365. From what i've heard they're pretty good and might have a got at it
It's easy to use, you have multiple formatting options, had some pretty interesting themes for that time, the ribbon style menu was a big improvement Will never forget WordArt.
It was late for the whole online game, hence I've replaced it with Google Docs

Overall, my experience with Words is very satisfactory because they offer a wide variety of tools that can help me writing standout.
I love how Words is a standardized application that is very often used in an office setting. I have used this application to write essays and lab reports in my high school and I don't have major issues with it.
Compared to Google docs, Words looks a bit old and non-innovative. Google Docs and be saved and accessed anywhere but for Words, you can't really do that. I wish words would improve in this aspect in offline access.

Microsoft Word was the staple software for school growing up and is my first choice when creating professional documents.
Offline document management is what makes This software so great. To have access to your projects offline is essential.
I find that the interface isn’t as user friendly as Google Docs. The software is not accessible on mobile, and the desktop software is very costly in comparison to its competitor, Google Docs, who offer their services and products for free.

I've used word since I was a kid. It's been around my life since I could remember and I'm happy to say it still has all the best things that make Word one of the best tools. I love how simple, easy to learn and clean it is and over the years it's only gotten better.

Word is a staple, have tried moving to other tools like OpenOffice, but always come back to word for its expansive feature set.
I wish Word was more of a cloud based product like Google Docs, so you can easily access your docs from anywhere. The Office 360 offering isn't as seamless.

Awesome. Bye Microsoft Word!
It's free, makes sharing easy, and works just like Word. I guess I'm not a Word super-user, but Docs seems to have all the functionality of Word. If I could get rid of Powerpoint, I would totally get rid of the Office Suite.
If I'm being picky, there are margin and alignment issues that are giving me trouble, but it's probably due to my inexperience.

free to use word processor that is very similar to microsoft word
It's free and really easy to use. Has most of the very common word attributes and is very much like microsoft word so it is an easy transition to use this if you are looking for great freeware
Not easy to do mail merges and it bogs down with really big complicated documents. If you want to work just like word you will be disappointed, but if you want free and easy to use word processor that looks like microsoft word then this is a great substitute.

It's Microsoft Word, but better
Incredibly easy to use UI for collaborating with teams or clients. Google Docs is Microsoft Word done better.
The biggest Con with Google Docs is security. It can be difficult to keep track of users that have certain document access. A lot of enterprise clients do not have security clearance to collaborate on Google Docs

Not as good as microsoft word
I like google docs because you can do the same thing as microsoft word but its free, you dont need to download anything, and you dont have to worry about saving files to a flash drive because its saved to your google account. so its always there on any computer you log in to unlike microsoft word.
Its very glitchy. it freezes alot and takes so long to load. It takes forever to do the most simple thing and it becomes very frustrating. you have to wait so long for each function to load that you want to just give up and close the site!

Great templates to use Easy to use Accessible anytime from anywhere, your documents are stored on the cloud Easy to share Free to access
Need a Google account to access Google Docs. It lacks some functionality available on Microsoft word, it's best to use it with Microsoft word for more functionality from Microsoft word.

Excellent. Seriously. Replaced microsoft word for me.
Like I said, I use this for everything. I write, I use it for lists. You can send it to other people, who can make comments, edits, suggestions - or not if you choose not to. It's freaking amazing
It would be nice if it forced you to create a title. I have far too many "Untitled Document"s

The ability to write and save my work in Drive aaaaand the ability to upload other formats into Docs format. The software is easy to use and keeps everything organized.
The ease of learning the tools. The ability to upload it into a different format is such a timesaver as some places only accepts different formats.
The constraints of the tools. Comparable to Microsoft Word but the tools aren't as developed as Microsoft Word.
