Performance lag on large boards

Recruitment Consultant

Large boards and lots of data could sometimes be a bit laggy and slow, and sometimes, there would be mini bugs, but not a massive issue.

manager

Lastly, it's worth mentioning that Monday.com relies on a stable internet connection to function properly, so if the internet connection is weak or unreliable, it can cause problems such as slow performance, dropped connections or even lost data.

68% of reviewers feel negative about Performance and Speed. Some users report that Monday.com can become slow or laggy, especially when boards contain large amounts of data or many users are active simultaneously. Reviewers mention delays in loading, updating statuses, and navigating between sections, which can disrupt workflows and reduce productivity. They say these issues are more pronounced with complex boards, heavy usage, or unstable internet connections, and occasional glitches or crashes further impact the user experience.

Limited mobile app functionality

Data Scientist

There have also been many cases where the mobile app doesn't function as well as the desktop version, which is frustrating when trying to manage tasks on the go.

Capture Manager

Additionally, the mobile app can be glitchy and lacks some important desktop features, making it difficult for remote team members to stay on top of their tasks.

45% of reviewers feel negative about the Mobile Version. Reviewers indicate that Monday.com’s mobile app lacks many features available on the desktop version, making it difficult to manage complex boards or workflows on the go. Some users say the mobile interface is less intuitive, occasionally buggy, and inconsistent across devices. They find it challenging to perform certain actions, experience slower performance, and note that frequent updates or missing features hinder productivity for remote or field-based team members.

Frequent bugs and glitches

Demand Gen Manager

The reps seem to be trying their best but response times are ridiculous, escalations are impossible, and no one has the skills to fix the obscene number of errors you'll experience when using or implementing this poorly build system.

Director of Marketing

Additionally, when searching online for reviews of Monday.com, you are unable to find any unless they are listed on their website, all showing positive and gleaming reviews, of course. When you go to Reddit, Facebook, etc. you find true reviews of people trying to spread the word that their platform consistently crashes.

53% of reviewers feel negative about Bugs and Issues. Some users report encountering recurring bugs, system glitches, and occasional crashes that disrupt their work. Reviewers mention problems with reporting, integrations, and translations, as well as difficulties contacting customer support for timely resolutions. They say that certain features may be incomplete or unreliable, and that technical issues—such as disappearing data, login problems, or broken automations—can undermine trust in the platform’s stability.

Overwhelming and rigid notifications

Reliability Engineer

The mailing and subscription is killing me, even when adjust the mailing setting it keeps sending statuses and other info on daily basis, and for that I needed to shut down it all.

40% of reviewers feel negative about Email Notifications. Some users report that default notification settings generate excessive emails, leading to inbox clutter and important updates being missed. Reviewers mention difficulties customizing alerts, unsubscribing from unwanted messages, or managing notification overload. They say the lack of granular control, integration limitations with email providers, and confusing notification layouts can make it hard to track project changes, resulting in distractions or lost information.

High and restrictive pricing

Asst. Manager

The biggest downside is that some advanced features and admin controls are only available in higher-tier plans, which can make it expensive as your team grows.

Delivery Lead

In reality I didn't continue using it as my trial period ended and I was looking for a tool for my individual use and the license I had to pay was for three or 4 extra users which increased the cost too much for my budget.

54% of reviewers feel negative about Pricing. Reviewers indicate that Monday.com’s pricing structure can be expensive, particularly for small teams, solo users, or organizations needing advanced features. Some users say essential capabilities are locked behind higher-tier plans, and the per-seat model increases costs as teams grow. They find the lack of flexible plans for individuals or occasional contributors frustrating, and note that limited free trials or feature restrictions make it difficult to evaluate the platform before committing.
