Pros

Led by a phenomenaly brilliant leader and a very intelligent and knowledgeable team.
The easy integration was the best part about this product. I have been through many accounting integrations and this was by far the easiest.
We absolutely love the software and are completly satisfied.

Pros

The proposals and invoicing are seamless. I also use the time stopwatch for clocking freelance hours which seamlessly translate to an invoice for billing which is amazing.
Overall, I'm extremely happy and I love all the growth and opportunities to tie my website in with the profile, the 3-D, rendering options, and all the bells and whistles that you provide.
The messaging features and leads features are very helpful, and I like the concierge. I haven't used the estimate feature because we have our own system for that, but I like that it exists.

Cons

There are no things that I don't like about the software, anything that I questioned or had a hard time with Premier support fixed or helped me with quickly.
Sluggish when dealing with large amounts of data.
It's very difficult to get it to integrate with our current estimating software. We're in the process of changing over, so I know it's only temporary.

Cons

Being directly connected to a potential client by a computer on the phone, when they have no idea who you are or why your are calling at what is usually an inconvenient time for them.
I have had a few spam encounters recently and the # of leads I receive has dropped.
But the automatic responses are irritating as they continue to ask you to respond when that's already be done. The program doesn't follow through as you move through the process.

Overall, very positive experience thus far. We now have much greater transparency into our project management and accounting and are able to make better decisions because of it!

Pros

Accounting and purchasing all in one system. Broad range of features. Cloud-based system makes for accessibility from anywhere. Able to setup users with various role securities. Awesome training and implementation team, and customer service all around is prompt and responsive.

Cons

A pro and also a con is that they build out all modules themselves instead of integrating with other technologies. Sometimes this leads to modules that aren't quite as sophisticated, however they are consistently providing updates and improvements on a regular basis to better these features.

Overall great tool for project management and construction

Pros

Love having my team to have access to it and communicates well with the clients

Cons

The estimate needs to have the capability to delete when a mistake was made on invoice or if we sent to client and need to add more items to the estimate without having to recreate it all over again. The cost for my clients to pay the invoices to way to much and not cost effective. Therefore my clients wire funds directly to me to avoid paying the high interest

One stop shop

We use Houzz to store and nurture all of our leads. We create take-offs, estimates & invoices. And we use Houzz for ongoing client communications throughout our projects. We are starting to generate more POs in Houzz also.

Pros

Houzz is the closest operations tool we could find to a "One stop shop" for our construction & remodeling firm.

Cons

We don't like that texts only send to the primary contact number. We want to have the function of sending communications to all the listed contacts with one message. Plus, we want to be able to enter more than one contact within the lead stage, vs. having to wait until the lead is a project. Also, we do not like that client meetings cannot be scheduled once a lead is converted to a project.

Pros

When I first started with Houzz in 2009, I was so excited to share our photos and have them seen by a wide audience. I never anticipated that it would be the premier referral source to our ongoing business.

Cons

I'm not thrilled with the hiccups and speed of the software, or the pricing of the trade programs.

How I use and benefit from HOUZZ

I am a residential designer, not a web designer. I can send projects to HOUZZ and they set up my website. More and more of my clients mention they have been to the HOUZZ site more than once. Great platform for clients and designers alike.

Pros

It is wonderful to have HOUZZ available to clients, from their initial thought "we want to ..." thru finding someone who is qualified to help the "do.....". Some of my clients have found me from the limits of my service range, others are in the same town. HOUZZ is the ONLY "advertising" I do beyond word of mouth. HOUZZ hosts my website so all services are at one place.

Cons

There are construction related items that just don't apply to me. That does NOT mean they are Bad. What I use is all great. Nothing of what I use would be "least" liked.

It has been helpful for streamlining a lot of my processes, but I feel there is a little bit more of a leaning towards the design side than the construction side.

Pros

I decided to use Houzz as my platform of choice for my remodeling/renovation business because it has the widest range of abilities to help consolidate all my processes into one spot. Before Houzz I was utilizing seven or more apps to accomplish my tasks. Houzz Pro is really the best choice if you want to save time, save money, and increase productivity.

Cons

I would love to see the estimating side of things become a little more robust on the parts catalog side and having more pre populated selections

Cons

As with many offerings like this, I think there are areas that aren't even discovered; so the question becomes are you truly utilizing all aspects of the product- Otherwise I would say there are no major red flags that I/my clients have seen or mentioned to date

Being able to run Design and Construct business in the one program is ideal. There are areas for improvement, however overall it has given our clients a better user experience for being able to better communicate our design and build ideas, proposals and updating clients about the project during construction.

Pros

Love that it has the option to provide a well rounded service from start to finish in handling clients from lead stage, to design, quotation proposals and build management. Not many options out there that combine design and construction components in one program.

Cons

Leads that come through are hit and miss. A lot of scam leads. However, have had some very successful leads. Needs little better handling and efficiency across the system and better user friendly interface for the app.

Satisfied but has room for improvements

Houzz Pro has been imperative for creating mood boards and sending professional customized invoices to my clients. The program has also be great for tracking each project through the phases of construction and keeping me on track with the project budget.

Pros

Tracking projects and getting approval for purchasing are both great tools that I use on a daily basis. Creating mood boards with links to the merchandise is also a great tool that I use often. It's nice that as clients approve items for purchase the budget used updates.

Cons

I wish a cut list for all approved items could be created with link and prices. Also, the 3D drawing tool is great but I wish it were more user friendly. It would be nice to draw and input the exact dimensions instead of having to stretch walls. I'm used to AutoCAD and so the 3D drawing seems a bit clumsy in comparison.

Great Software

Pros

This has been super helpful in getting my business off the ground. As a new startup in the Construction Industry, it is easy to get lost and pushed around. Having Houzz has helped me with estimating and keeping track of my projects so it doesn't get too overwhelming for me.

Cons

I was hoping for a little bit of an easier entrance into the cost. But it is still very affordable compared to some of the other competitors.

houzz as a resource

I feel that I do not have much customer service without increasing my cost, I find it problematic as a design build firm that I can not use the design aspects unless i am design , but can not use the estimating feature because I would need to be on the construction platform I need both. I heard this may change but did it no communication ?

Pros

I use houzz to highlight my business with pictures of the work and the timeline it tood with an approx price of the job

Cons

I find it difficult to access from my phone and when I am with a client, the clients sometimes can not find my profile on the web too which is not great

Great platform

I am impressed with the ability to create floor plans in Houzz Pro and will play around with it more when I get some more help in the office.

Pros

I really like the user friendliness and ease of use for myself and leads as well. The system has several options and being in construction for several years, I haven't seen a lead platform this robust in awhile. I have seen specialized CRMS but not one that can do both. I cant give enough praise to my account manager, [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] who has been very patient and helpful with all my questions.

Cons

I have had a few spam encounters recently and the # of leads I receive has dropped.

Commitment and high standards

excellent -- works great. The impact continues with little management or additional updating or input.

Pros

Far and away the best site for generating customer leads. The baseline info Houzz provides about potential customers is so good you can hit the ground running once you meet. And the site is as pretty as it is useful -- it's a well-known showcase of "after" pics for those NOT in construction, while offering a serious and searchable repository of finished results that builders use in real time to help customers make decisions while working with customers planning a reno.

Cons

nothing -- no complaints. Great site for both builders and all tradespeople AS WELL AS homeowners.

My overall experience has been great right from the start. I love having a dedicated client success manager. [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] has been phenomenal. He is very responsive, he's offered me wonderful tips and suggestions, and he is a pleasure to work with. I love that I am "not alone." So often you sign up for a service and then are just left on your own to navigate it - that did not happen here! I highly recommend Houzz to other design and construction professionals!

Pros

The software is easy to use and navigate. It is very intuitive.

Cons

I think it would be helpful if there were more key word suggestions when you tag photos.

No return on investment, terrible customer service

Pros

I loved the IDEA of having a CRM tailored for my carpentry business that allowed us to streamline estimates and make them more efficient. I also liked that it captured eSignatures on proposals, and allow us to connect Quickbooks and collect deposits on the spot.

Cons

I found the estimating tool to be difficult to use. The product catalogue, while intriguing to know that they populate values for common construction items, it's REALLY cumbersome to sift through, and if you aren't pricing items the way they do, it becomes irrelevant and you will find yourself spending an inordinate amount of time keying in your own items, only to have to update them manually each time you create a new estimate. There was no time saving in this tool at all for me, and have found going back to a google sheet much simpler.
