Pros

I can view my hairdresser availability and schedule my own appointments. I love that Styleseat sends friendly reminders of appointments.
I love how when I book an appointment with my stylist in NJ, I get friendly emails if I haven’t booked with my stylist in a while.
What I like the most about SytleSeat is the ease of use. The app is very user-friendly.

Pros

I love the way you can customize your subscription to meet whatever needs you have in your space. The site and app are easy to navigate and I love all of the reports that are available to me.
This has been the first program that I used to start my business with, and it is super user friendly for any beginner business owner and current to keep track on your progress.
Clients love how easy it is to book appointments online. Love how you can customize confirmation notifications for clients.

Cons

My clients are complaining about all of the fees that they are being charged and I am getting the backlash.
It has no customer service number at all if and when you have a problem.
Clients had trouble looking for their own appointments at times, and once in a while the whole app would crash. An entire day of clients without being able to see who’s scheduled next.

Cons

I had some trouble refreshing the page and getting linked to another site. There was a lot of advertisement for other companies, so I also got distracted at times.
Needs Apple Pay support desperately, especially in this era of COVID-19, this is a glaring omission.
Switched to Vagaro from Booker and I hate it but I’m trapped.

Love, Love, Love Vagaro!

One week ago I had a client who always used StyleSeat Express Pay. I waited they never charged her. She emailed me that her card was not charged so then I had to manually ring her out. 2 days later I got an email from StyleSeat that they were not going to allow clients to use the Express Pay thru StyleSeat if they checked the option for opting out of receiving any and all notifications from StyleSeat....

Pros

Ease of setup, selling gift certificates from my website, the very fast customer service, the inventory tracking (not with StyleSeat), the automatic reminders from using my business name and not from Vagaro. (StyleSeat reminders said they came from StyleSeat) The reports , being able to directly print from Vagaro, being able to print receipts(couldn't with StyleSeat). And many more..

Growing In Industry, But Lacking In Key Marketing Metrics

None. No Facebook Pixel.

I know a ton of clients that jumped off StyleSeat or something similar to jump on Vagaro--and they are happy. However . . .

Cons

A feature that is often requested and ignored is to be able to add the Facebook Pixel to their client booking page. This is a HUGE FAIL! If you believe that FB is awesome for marketing--which is most people--why would you use a service that does not integrate where ALL your clients are?!? I wrote the CEO about this and no avail. I've been in several Vagaro Support chats which are really bad in my limited experience. This is such a shame. There are ways around this pixel thing to track people who landed on your Vagaro page and left, but it's tricky.

LOVE the app. It does way MORE than Styleseat for less money! I have been with Styleseat for 6 years and I'm soooo happy that I switched. I love that it runs fast and the options are endless that it has to offer! I'm SUPER happy with my switch!

Overall, I am very happy I made the switch.

Pros

I had StyleSeat and was having a lot of technical errors, I love the lay out of this software, the text messages to clients, lay out of client info, the marketing materials etc

Cons

Setting up was a lot of work, setting up the services and client info, but once its done its great! There is additional 10.00 fee if you want to customize how your page looks which I discovered after spending quite some time customizing mine. Its not until you hit publish that it shows the additional fee to publish.

Best Booking App out there!

I was using Styleseat for about a year, now they are charging a fee and haven't offered many changes. Styleseat doesn't have live support, only email. When I was looking at Vagaro, a live chat popped up, they answered all my questions and explained everything. It was so wonderful to be able to talk with someone and have an immediate response. I am still setting up my booking, so far everything is going great!

I am a self employed hairstylist. I was using StyleSeat prior to Vagaro. I was looking for a program that would give me more options. Booking clients, as well as they, can book online. Vagaro definitely has options. Once you understand how to maneuver the pages it's pretty easy.

Pros

Customer support is very good!! I love that you have options. You can actually talk to a real person if you really want to. They are very patient on the phone trying to talk you through it. They also have tutorials on each page if you want to watch it as you are figuring that page. Still things I am learning but so far I am very happy.

Cons

The only thing right now since I have not been using it long enough to run into issues is I have a client and he has a daughter and he needs to be able to see her appointments to bring her in. I am trying to figure it myself right now but if not I will be calling Vagaro. It will not let you use the same email for another person which is a bummer since he is her parent. Hopefully, there will not be too many issues.
