Barcode Scanning overview
What is Barcode Scanning?
With Estrategy's Barcode scanning, internal goods movements from receipt to delivery are recorded error-free and instantly processed. This prevents human error so the administration remains consistent with physical stock levels. The program links with existing software via APIs.
Goods received with EAN 13/14 or 128 coding are booked directly into stock. EAN 128 coded goods can also be registered with weight, batch, or serial numbers. Order picking is also done with barcode scanning. Scanning too large a quantity, or the wrong product will generate an error message. During inventory, warehouse location and products are scanned first, after which the quantity is entered. Discrepancies can be processed immediately.
In a production environment, materials are scanned before entering the production process and a unique barcode is printed for production batches when they leave production. Thus, it will always be clear which products and batches have been used.
