What is Scanner for Remote Desktop?
Scanner for Remote Desktop is a product that allows users to scan documents via a remote desktop session. It makes it possible to securely redirect image scanners via Teradici PCoIP, Citrix ICA, and Microsoft RDP to a remote desktop session.
The solution consists of two parts, Workstation, and Server, and before it can run, it is necessary to install Workstation in local computer mode and Server in remote mode. After both are installed, Scanner for Remote Desktop can establish a virtual image scanner in remote mode and have the operating system identify it as a hardware device.
If more than one user is connected in remote mode, each image scanner is isolated in an individual session, which ensures full security of the content and prevents other users from accessing private documents and data. In addition, the software does not store the scanned images on the server or workstation for security and privacy purposes.
