We use it for our in house application and it saved us many time of development if we had to build many of our must have required features (users management, permission management, adfs integrated for sso ...) from scratch.

Maybe something can be done in terms of licensing especially for small companies like ours.

Most of the infrastructural plumbing has been considered by the architects of ASP.NET Zero, and arranged within the application code-base in a sensible, clean and intuitive fashion.

We estimate for our product, a 100-150 man hour cost to performing this upgrade - and parallel branches would be best avoided during this time, due to the scale of churn.

Given it's nature - source-code rather than just a binary dependency - it's very easy to "mix" our product-specific changes into the ASP.NET Zero authored code. While ASP.NET Zero does support modularisation, which we expect would minimise this - there are some things that just are not possible - or are orders of magnitude more difficult to do in a modular manner.

Sometimes when I updated the nuget packages, some things break or some previously resolved issues reappear.

My overall experience with Essential Studio has not been very good. While the component library offers many features, I have run into too many issues with Syncfusion components. When problems come up, it can be difficult and time-consuming to get them resolved, especially when the issue is inside the component itself. Because of this, I am now making steady progress removing Syncfusion integrations and replacing them with my own custom components for better control and reliability.

The large number of components and frameworks it supports can make the product feel overwhelming at first, especially for new users who only need a small subset of features. Because the suite is so extensive, the learning curve can be steeper than with smaller, specialized libraries.

fist of all, it is very good third-party tools for us, we used in a lot of our applications, since traditional .net framework project, until Vue Js applications. and we always got very good support from Syncfusion, even for some very old version, still can get help easy and quick. and you can very easy to find what you want from Syncfusion demo sites.

Text extraction from complex PDFs could be better. When documents have multiple columns or unusual layouts, the extracted text doesn't always preserve the reading order you'd expect.

I feel that customizing the appearance of the editor required some digging through documentation which was not as straightforward as some other features.

For teams prepared to manage frequent updates and occasionally provide detailed bug reports, Essential Studio can be a cost-effective and powerful option.
