Guitar Pro overview

What is Guitar Pro?

Guitar Pro is the ultimate sheet music and tablature editor, which imports songs from over 20 different sources such as disk, network or creates them from scratch using innovative tools like the virtual keyboard or the guitar tuner. In addition to displaying printed sheet music for solo instruments, Guitar Pro 6 now supports vocalists with a Karaoke feature so that users can play along with backing tracks.

Guitar Pro includes features specially optimized for musicians such as tablature editing, advanced chords management, the ability to extract parts from audio files, score edition at any tempo or pitch with real-time transcription and a complete drum set with 4 different sounds.

With the ability to read and write scores in standard notation, tab, tablature and standard MIDI files, Guitar Pro has everything you need to create your own music or to play along with all of your favorite songs.

“You can get tons of gp files in the internet to import and learn the music.”

“It is perfect for providing charts, creating exercises, and I even use it for putting together my own original compositions. As I said in the title, if you are a guitarist you owe it to yourself to spend some time working with Guitar Pro.”

“One of the things that has fascinated me the most is the versatility and ease that it offers to edit and create tablatures and scores, but what has really impressed me is the possibility of reproducing the compositions that I have created, since in this application I can faithfully reproduce the sound of each instrument, allowing me to hear how each chord, each arpeggio and each solo sounds.”

Cons
“One thing i don't like about guitar pro is it's lag while importing multiple audio file in one go , it creates a distorted frequency notes which is annoying.”

ARTIST AND MANAGMENT

“Sometimes when I try to edit an existing chord or add a new one I find it a bit cumbersome and not as intuitive as other features within the software.”

“Guitar Pro offer less "active" opportunities than RIG 5 , 6 , 7 on Logic pro X and create problems affecting output source to play with the sound live in the arrange”

You could theoretically edit natively in Riverside but FCPX is so much easier to drag and drop video and audio (I've also been using FCP for 24 years).

We do most of our editing in FCP. We export the video out when we finish and upload to Riverside to tweak our audio or add captions.
