I used Lectora between Flash-era e-learning and mobile-first e-learning.

It's like the C++ of the coding world—wouldn't want to use it but thankful for its foundation.

Its not free, but seriously no authroing tool can be all things, so Lectora has very few limitations (I cannot think of any) but if all you want is a page of text with image and few simple clicks, then go and get something for free - or build something in google slides.

The tool generates a large, cluttered directory filled with numerous subfolders, each containing assets, media, and configuration files. While this may be necessary from a technical standpoint, it’s not user‑friendly.

Adding speech to the slides is a bit outdated (PowerPoint), and I wish we had an updated way to allow more audio control by the user and not just to click on an image.

However, my experience has been mixed due to recurring technical issues that have affected stability and publishing. While the core concept of the product is strong, these disruptions and the time spent resolving them have impacted confidence when using it for larger or time-sensitive projects.

With a single click, I can export from PowerPoint in different formats to upload to our LMS so end users can access the training.
