What is Work by Speech?
Work by Speech recognizes users' voices to control their computers and perform a variety of tasks. Without having to use a keyboard and mouse, users can dictate text, open and close programs, browse the web, and more.
This application allows for quiet speaking and the following:
- Speech-based mouse control that is quick and repeatable with support for all mouse actions
- Custom voice commands management
- Macro recording
- Switching between applications
- Opening applications through speech
- Dictation
Work by Speech can be used offline, but for better dictation recognition, an internet connection is recommended.
Work by Speech functions in three modes:
- OFF, denoted by a microphone icon in red (also found in the system tray). In this mode, "Start speech recognition" is the only voice command.
- Command, which is denoted by a microphone icon in green. With this mode, speech-based computer work is possible.
- Dictation, whose icon is a blue microphone. When internet access is available, this mode allows more accurate dictation recognition.
Work by Speech makes use of a mouse grid, which enables quick and precise mouse control. The mouse grid divides the screen into 2550 figures. There are up to two characters in each figure. Understanding the mouse grid alphabet is necessary to read them.
