Another look at different expense report software
It ties into AMEX and you can use it for so many features to clean up excel expense reports and other time consuming tasks.
It exports to CSV files and I really prefer a proper integration to accounting softwares which is why I went with Nexonia.

Numerous, but mainly timely expense reimbursement and processing.
This software is extremely user friendly. It allows expense approvals to easily be synced and linked to your accounting department.
Some vendors and expenses that auto populate seem to be duplicative. At times you need to spend time cleaning up those expenses

overall, I really think this product is great and a huge improvement from our previous tool.
it is easy to upload receipts and match to my expenses, either via image or pdf document. the mobile app is a life saver for someone that has trouble with keeping receipts.
My only complaint is that you can't apply the same image to multiple expenses. This is especially frustrating when you have to split an expenses.

Automatically linked to credit cards which loads expenses directly to the system. Simply update expense category, upload mobile or scanned receipts, and submit for payment. Also integrated with travel companies to easily book and search for travel arrangements.
Expenses are sometimes not automatically categorized, and require manual categorization. Travel rules sometimes flag expenses but can be easily commented on to ensure easy review and approval.

We use SAP Concur to allow all staff with spending authority to report their expenses on one platform. This method has helped us manage our finances and produce standard reporting from one location. It is a flexible platform for administrators and users. It is easy for managers to track expenses. While we do not use its reporting engine as much, its reporting engine has excellent grouping and sorting capabilities to generate valuable intelligence on spending trends.
Functionalities on their mobile application is very good. I can upload receipts, update expenses, submit expenses, and approve expenses of my staff with just a few clicks.
Their website's user interface (UI) has an opportunity for improvement. SAP went through one iteration of UI improvement; some features became more efficient and some became worse rather than seeing a consistent improvement in all UI features.

The website is relatively easy to navigate.
There are many steps to submit your expenses and if you do not fill in all of the content input areas, your expenses will not go through.

FInance and expenses.
Very easy to use, has an app. Build your reports and expense.
The online portion is quite finicky, requiring way too many fields and no easy upload template. Receipts are annoying too.

I like the feature to add photos directly to an expense. I also like that I can send emails with expense details directly to concur.
I wish expenses showed more quickly after a purchase. There are many categories to classify expenses and I wish I could save "favorites" or "frequently used" classifications for reference.

Pleasant experience submitting for reimbursement for my expenses incured working from home such as home internet monthly expenses.
I like that it is fairly easy to use and that you can submit multiple reimbursement requests at one time. I like that the program basically walks you thru what information is needed to submit the request.
At first it was a little confusing as to where to go to submit the request but once you submit a request, then it is super easy after that. All in all I had no complaints.

Keeping track of expenses and employee expenses is so much easier and less time consuming then with our manual system.
This software replaced a cumbersome, manual paper entry system. I love the ability to review and approved remotely. I appreciate the emailing of receipts and then being able to easily select them for each expense. It is a huge time saver.
The association of my expenses to my companies general ledger account number does not show my selections. I would like the software to recognize that I use the same 5 account numbers every month, I'd like the list to be intuitive and suggest these 5 numbers at the beginning of the drop down list so I don't have to scroll down and find them every month.

I got my expenses in.
It has all the features I need to submit my expenses and proper approval chain gets triggered to get my expenses approved.
It might have been a personalization that my company set, but Concur was connected to other expense/budget systems and although my manager was someone, they were not able to approve because they were not set up in Concur due to the fact that they were a new manager. There needs to be a feed or connection with HR systems that mark of individuals who have direct reports in some way.

Concur is a great product to input your expenses in an easy to use way. You are able to put your expenses in different categories which helps organize all your expenses in one place.
Concur give you a lot of options for expense reporting. It is easy to learn and to use. It also gives you areas to input comments for each expense.
Concur gives a lot of areas to put in information. It makes it a little too complicated with so many options.

Overall my experience has been pretty neutral- it gets the job, but I wouldn't recommend it. I've used Concur in the past and preferred that system- seemed more modern.
Now that I've been using Nexonia for several years it's fine, but there is definitely a learning curve. It's pretty quick and easy to submit expense reports. I believe there is also a mobile app component, but I don't personally use that. I like that I can sign in with my google email as dumb as that is- one less password to remember.
The system itself is a bit unintuitive to use- there is definitely a learning curve, but once you figure it out it isn't terrible. The worst part about it is the Aladdin Travel piece- I'm not sure if this is an integration, or is part of their actual product, so take this with a grain of salt. The Aladdin Travel piece is absolute garbage- it doesn't work at all sometimes so you have to end up calling into their support center and having them book things for you over the phone. Very clunky old system.

File & manage expense reports using this software for myself & my direct reports.
I was pleasantly surprised to learn how easy it is to use this software to manage expense reports. I was almost convinced that Concur was the best one around for that purpose until I used this one.
I think the most cumbersome feature of this software is but a minor inconvenience in that the screen sizing on a smart phone isn't agile enough. That same issue occurs with Concur as well so nothing to worry about.

Emburse seems to buy up these expense reporting platforms, collects money from them and then does not seem to invest in improving any of the functionality. We started with Nexonia around April 2021 and were off by May 2022.There are just so many better options out there for a similar price. We switched to Concur. Although not perfect, it is a thousand times better than Nexonia.
Not really anything positive to say about this software. Everything we hoped it would be, it wasn't. Customer service was OK. Corporate credit card sync seemed to work fine.
BEWARE: They do not really have true OCR. This is the biggest downside. Typically, an OCR with expense reporting like Concur or Expensify finds key information and automatically matches this information (vendor, amount) with a corporate transaction. In Nexonia, you need to manually match every...single... transaction. Our users hated it!It took me an hour or more to do an expense report in Nexonia...
