Pros

It has a great interface which makes it feel very easy to use and has a great set of templates you can use from the beginning for various accounting needs.
For a small company as myself the excellent invoice features has been very helpful and useful.
FreshBooks combined with other applications is a great tool. In any case, if you want to create invoices and send it in a split second and then track and monitor its progress, I recommend FreshBooks.

Pros

Overall it is very simple to use and I like the transparency to do our transactions and great a report, I really like how easy and accurate it is to track donations and the donors.
I love the ease of creating invoices. It's very easy to get paid and I love that I get notified instantly upon getting a paid invoice.
It is very user friendly. I love the webinars that are available to help you navigate your way around the software.

Cons

We would lose all of that if we switched, so unfortunately we are stuck with having to use this horrible new format.
It is really frustrating to have a client not be able to pay through the invoice, and for this reason, only, I have been considering a new software company.
Tier based pricing from Lite to Premier is a bit confusing. WePay advocates having a Chase bank account for faster processing otherwise fails to integrate.

Cons

My records were a jumbled mess, and the tech support was awful. They’d say someone is going to call , then that person would email instead.
I dislike being unable to undo batches of reconciliations to fix errors.
Doing a bank reconciliation is more complex than the desktop version. There was a problem with the AZ withholding and they have never fixed it.

Great app for online invoicing

Using two subscriptions Freshbooks allowed us to invoice and collect payment in two currencies from our single website. We found the service to be efficient and user-friendly.

Pros

Easy way to create professional looking invoices and offer online payment to clients.

Cons

We were not able to easily or seamlessly integrate it with Quickbooks online.

Love that this software is better and cheaper than QuickBooks. We started with QuickBooks online getting charged 9.99 a month now its over $50

Cons

So far we have not found anything that we would consider a con.

It's a good alternative to quickbooks if you want to pay slightly less.

Pros

Freshbooks is slightly cheaper than quickbooks, but has mostly the same functionalities. It's accessible online so you can use anywhere.

Cons

It does have a learning curve. Sometimes linking up to your banks and financial systems took multiple tries.

Setup and creating invoices is a cinch!

Pros

The setup of your information on this software is amazingly simple in today's way too many options for things technological society. Navigation is clear and concise with no nonsense templates and branding. This software can also be used for free if you only have 2 or 3 clients!

Cons

The software allows you to enter inventory items on an invoice, but does not actually keep up with or track inventory for you. The software is very comparable in aesthetics, functionality and pricing as Quickbooks Online, except that Quickbooks has the Inventory feature.

Reasonable competitive software to QuickBooks

We have several online businesses that feed into different accounting systems for ease of year end taxes and numbers. Freshbooks was a decent alternative to Quickbooks -- we chose Freshbooks because Quickbooks keeps raising their prices.

Pros

Reports & data download faster due to the FreshBooks server setup. The user interface is not very different from other entry-level accounting software, the data download speeds are much higher.

Cons

Quickbooks customer service is truly superb. Not only do they understand accounting, but also software and tech. We had that service level expectation when we came to Freshbooks, and we were let down.

Great Product; Spam Calls Needs to Relax

-Intuitive interface -Easy to understand and learn -Low price compared to Quickbooks -Access anywhere since its online -Customer support seems to be responsive

Cons

If you give them your real phone number, good luck. They will call you non stop trying to figure out if you want to buy a bigger package or why you aren't resubscribing anymore. I kept answering their calls until I realized that no one was communicating to one another that they had already spoken to me.

Pros

The app is OK for self-employed people. The app is OK for invoicing clients, but I would not do all the accounting with it. The website looks nice.

Cons

In my opinion, the app is not a real accounting system. I prefer using Quickbooks online. The app can not be used in French. The different plans prices are based on the number of clients.

Powerful Invoicing Services

In migrating from manual to computerized accounting system, freshbooks helps me to save my time in making a manual entries of expenses by uploading directly to expenses ledger. No need to make a multiple daily expenses entries.

Pros

It has the best and powerful invoicing services. Freshbooks fits for small/medium size construction business with few staff. With it's mobile application features, vendor's sales invoice can easily be uploaded to the system where ever you are. In terms of customer service supports, they are responsive and well knowledgeable about the system.

Cons

Limited user and client in lower subscriptions. Freshbooks should consider increasing the number of user and client in lower tier in which it will be more competitive to the other softwares like Quickbooks Online and Xero.

Good for small businesses but not the cheapest

While it would totally work for a small business, this is definitely not the best option for mid- to large size company. It is a good choice for your basic needs (in you are not concerned about pricing). If you are going to need more features like payroll (reporting and remitting payments), GST handling (reporting and remitting), accounting (managing and reconciling accounts), inventory management, no limit to the number of your clients. Then, for sure, just get QuickBooks Online.

Pros

Great and easy to use interface. I would say the name speaks for itself... It is very "fresh" and it does what it needs to. Reliable choice for a small business.

Cons

A bit high pricing (even compared to QuickBooks). Especially, if you consider that it does not provide near as many features as QB Online does. So the price is a downside as well as limited features.

Simple & Easy for Small Companies

I get paid faster. My clients are happy with the billing process.

Pros

FreshBooks is very easy to use. It is also easy to set up online payments. They do have a more advanced double entry program which I will likely upgrade to in the future.

Cons

The version I have has a very limited number of clients that I can have. This includes active and archived clients. It makes it difficult to manage if you have over 3 clients. The work around is to bill everyone under miscellaneous and track it in a spreadsheet.

Easy and intuitive! Freshbooks links well to other platform (similar to Quickbooks) There's also the option to use Zapier if Freshbooks doesn't have native link

Cons

The dashboard reporting is not as extensive as Quickbooks. I think Quickbooks still takes the cake for that.

Seems to be a good product. Easy transition from Quickbooks. Cost was better than quickbooks.

Pros

I love the ease of use. Freshbooks has a positive spin on invoicing and making sure you get paid so you can continue on with your day.

Cons

I wish Freshbooks did more to compete with software such as Quickbooks. I had to migrate from Freshbooks to Quickbooks after my business grew.

It's great for a single contractor or a very small business

Easy to get in, create decent invoices to send to clients. I love the auto-tickling of clients to pay and the online payment opportunities. The site is starting to get a little bit long in the tooth these days, and I feel like other opportunities like quickbooks online may be a better solution in the long run.

Pros

Easy to get in and get going. The followup on invoices is great (both for me and to the client).

Cons

The site design and aesthetic are a little old-fashioned at this point, and it feels a little bit abandoned.

Pros

I like the interface of the software. Freshbooks, as you can tell from the name, takes on Quickbooks... but it doesn't get very far. Not much to like when you've already used Quickbooks.

So much more intuitive than Quickbooks. However because of the shortcomings with reports etc. I'm forced to use Quickbooks also. I wish the people at Freshbooks could teach Quickbooks how to make things user friendly.

Pros

The software is easy to use, it provide payroll monitoring easy. You can create invoices automatically with FreshBooks. You can also connect QuickBooks online with FreshBooks using OneSaas and automatically get your invoice data. Very awesome software indeed!! The integration is awesome!

Cons

Email click through sometimes don't work. Except this I am super ok with FreshBooks software!!

Freshbooks eliminated our Accounts Receivables! It's so easy to get clients to pay quickly!

I eliminated the Accounts Receivable for an Advertising business that my non-profit organization operates. It makes it easy to do remote sales of advertising, to let them pay whoever they like to, and to keep good records. It's a no-brainer!

Pros

Fast and easy to make invoices! Easy for them to pay. Stripe and Paypal integration! Interface is clean and simple, support is friendly, and it just works!

Cons

Hard to say because it is serving so well. Maybe some integration directly into our quickbooks online, which I haven't looked into how to do yet, but could be nice. Maybe it would also be cool if you could generate the invoices directly from Gmail somehow? :)

Cons

The basic version of FreshBooks only allows the user to have a limited number of clients. One the other hand, QuickBooks does not limit the number of possible clients.

Freshbooks a great, albeit slightly expensive tool for freelancers

I love the look of Freshbooks and what they are doing for freelancers. Great, well designed, and a solid app. If it weren’t for the inevitable high price increase, I would be very tempted to switch from QuickBooks.

Pros

Freshbooks has a fresh, modern design that is refreshing to use when compared to QuickBooks Online. It’s geared toward freelancers and is simple and offers a lot of tools that freelancers need all in one place (invoicing, accounting, time tracking, and simple project management.)

Cons

The main con of Freshbooks is its pricing structure. Rather than monthly pricing that increases if you need more functionality, it’s based on client number. In theory this sounds good, but it also means you inevitably must upgrade when your client base reaches a certain threshold, even if your needs don’t increase. For my business, I only ever need invoicing and accounting; but once my client base passes 50, I would have to upgrade to the $50/mo level—which is double of QuickBooks and doesn’t have as many features.

Price goes up every year. Our monthly cost for quickbooks online has tripled over the last 3 years... If it goes up again we may switch to Freshbooks
