What is GlobalProtect?
GlobalProtect is a virtual private network (VPN) platform designed to help businesses inspect incoming and outgoing traffic, secure access to sensitive data through an IPsec/SSL VPN connection, and gain visibility across applications, ports, and protocols for the mobile workforce.
GlobalProtect allows enterprises to filter URLs, restrict access to malicious domains and use multi-factor or cookie-based authentication methods to confirm users' identity. Its App-ID technology identifies application traffic and lets organizations establish usage policies based on devices.
GlobalProtect's User-ID technology identifies users to enforce role-based network security policies. The system protects mobile workforce by inspecting traffic using firewalls at internet gateways and smartphones, tablets, and laptops, among other devices.
