Tax Cloud does not always follow the rules that our state has in place regarding capturing tax on shipping charges, etc.   If I need to adjust the order total for some reason - the tax does not recalculate correctly.

I am technical and I am able to remove taxcloud and use odoo manual tax import and export option. Although integration is easy the support and relying on API is not sustainable.

If you discontinue you get notices from random states that your taxes need filed with them or you'll get fined.

The only improvement I could add is that if there is a problem that instead of email response - sometimes you just need to talk to a person to get things resolved quicker.

This helps us when entering in a manual order and we need the correct tax rate.

Integration via the API is straightforward, even more so using the Wordpress plugin.

It would be easier if all information requested was listed in one web page without having to hit "next".

It is easy to enter in an address and retrieve the tax rate for that destination, on the tax rate page.

There is absolutely no way to manually override the amount of tax charged.

They charged over $300 within my first two months into launching my own business as a "late payment fee" eventhough there is nothing wrong with the credit card I've had on file...which suddenly they started charging $10 to this year without me signing off and agreeing to such thing.

Before their pricing model changed, it was a perfect solution for small companies who needed just the basics of sales tax support.  

However, I called and spoke with one of their support agents (when you actually COULD call someone) and asked if my plan would also be changing to a charged model.  

they've had technical issues from their end, and despite admitting to it, its been over 1 year and i am still chasing after my refund.

There is no relationship manager, if you have an issue you have to call, give the info again, wait for a call back etc.   While Drake works well generally, I suggest ensuring you ask a lot of questions before listening to sales to proceed.  

Price increase has been hard to manage.i realize the added security and constant updates require top notch programmers.

The ability for the software to update clients from prior years is a particularly useful feature and saves us a lot of time.

It lacks some of the more robust features that can be helpful if you have a large team, but it's not really trying for that market.

Super inexpensive product that is ideal for solopreneurs and those doing taxes on the side when they are starting out.

what I like most about Drake and he does everything and anything you don’t have to have different software or different cloudbase options compared to other sites.

I like that it pulls information from one year to the next, which saves time on data entry.

Drake was sold 3 years ago and it's gotten MUCH WORSE since then.

No help from Drake in this matter because they are driving people to use Rightworks.

New forms and tax law changes are shoe-horned in on screens like pimples on a face.

I switched to MyTaxPrepOffice and it is horribly inaccurate (I will be switching back) but it has a great live form view which allows me to watch the form fill out of my second monitor as I input the data.

If you have a complex issue, you need to re-explain the issue.

I've spent countless hours with support and they don't help.

Customer since 2012 but this is my last year with them.

I will never use any other software as long as Drake Tax is available.

I couldn't even login to renew my 2023 tax software and use my rights networks.

I tried to explain with Drake that it’s too labor-intensive and that it’s just not going to work out but they have a three day return policy REALLY????

The customer service is not good because requested return phone calls never come.

Balance sheet, M-1, and M-2 are black boxes and impossible to balance.

It is not cloud based and needs a server to have it "cloud" based.

The customer service is impeccable however the software seemed to be a bit outdated.
