I'm using it to keep track of all transactions before sending them to my CPA. It offers me a centralized view of all my banks and credit card transactions. It maybe a bit redundant, but this is the best combination we found so far.
It's very easy to set up. Very intuitive. I like the Dashboard. The customer service chat is right there. We have been with QuickBooks desktop and online. They are too much for my needs.
It's confusing with the "Personal" and business tabs sharing the same bank connections to be used. Luckily I'm only importing January 2019. So it was easy to recover.

What business doesn't write checks? Printing checks is not an option with Wave.
Low cost nice interfaces. Stripe integration
No check printing. No automatic migration from Quickbooks.
Hi, I'm sorry that Wave wasn't the right fit for you. We take our customer feedback seriously, and leverage this feedback when determining what features we'll build next. Based on customer requests for different features, as well as some other factors, check printing isn't currently something that's been prioritized, and as such it's not currently available with Wave. -Sara from Wave

Wave promises to be a great alternative to quickbooks and quickbooks line with all of the features a small business needs and small business-friendly pricing.
What has made us hesitant to go all-in with Wave is their lack of migration support. The process of changing from QB is time consuming and if you're a small business you sometimes do not have the time.

Overall I am very hap[py with Wave.
I switched from Quickbooks when they started charging a monthly fee. Being able to invoice my customers online is the best part.
I wish you could upload my customer base from Quickbooks.

It's wonderful! I switched over from Quickbooks Online
I love the ease and simplicity of Wave Accounting. It's direct and to the point with great functionality. You have a lot of control over-invoicing, recurring billing, creating customers, applying expenses to projects, etc.
The reporting is ok, a lot of it's failings are in how I'm using it vs the feature not being available.

Amazing, highly recommend to small self employed businesses
Great free platform. Better than Quickbooks and costs less.
Banking integration doesn't always work. Would like the ability to pause recurring invoices.

If you keep up with your accounting in Wave, your taxes are ready to file almost when the tax year closes. It even keeps images of each receipt you scan or email in and has a great phone app to do this. Wave is a great experience in organization.
You can’t beat the cost and functionality of this free software. When the pandemic started I used the business closure time to switch from Quickbooks to Wave and I was impressed. It does virtually everything Quickbooks does, but it’s free! Account reconciliation is much quicker with Wave than Quickbooks.
The one thing I wish they would change is that after importing your bank statement at the end of the month, you cannot bulk categorize transfers to other account. In my case, I must tediously click on each daily ATM transaction and designate this to transfer to an account. After 30 times in a row it is tedious and boring.

For the first two years, my experience was pretty good. I liked how the accounting and credit card processing were rolled into one. However when a client recently processed a large credit card payment from a Wave invoice, I was contacted by a Risk Payments Lead and told that because the business account was set up by a former employee, my entire business account was connected to that person. I was...
I like the fact that it's easier to figure out than Quickbooks.
It was difficult to easily integrate payments processed from other sources, like Constant Contact.

Being able to have accounting software both on desktop and mobile is a big plus.
I love the simplicity of this app. Easy and quick to get things setup. Also love the clean looking templates. If you login using your google account all your information is already transferred to your business profile thus filling in all the pertinent information about your company on invoice templates, quote templates, etc. Time saver! Also love that it has an app so I can access accounts and invoice on the go!
Would live a way to setup customers with set pricing. Such as contractor rates. Also would like to be able to transfer my quickbook records into wave so I can go to one place for data and records.

Thus far it's a very good substitute for QB
For my needs looks to be the best feature and value substitute for Quickbooks.
Since I'm not a expert with the functionality of the product (only unsung couple of months) I don't have any Cons. I have not yet looked into , or figured out how to, do automate some repetitive functions.

It is nice that they have a Google App shortcut if you are a Google based company. Quick initial setup
No mobile app. Coming from Quickbooks, I had a hard time getting started with Wave. It wasn't setup the way I expected an accounting software to be setup. Eventually I gave up and went back to Quickbooks

FREE and SIMPLE to use accounting software. Integrates nicely with my business bank account.
FREE accounting software. Simple to use. Don't get suckered into paying for QuickBooks or 1800Accountant.
Customer support is not free. That's probably the only drawback but they got to make money somehow.

I switched from expensive Quickbooks to Wave and found it so easy to use.
Easy to use, consumer-friendly interface. I like that it was all online, allowing me easy access anywhere and across all devices. And it was free! A key feature I enjoy is a view of my financials at a glance. There are always graphics generated giving you a snapshot of your company at the moment. Plus, it’s easy to get your accounting reports.
Nothing to dislike about this software. It was a breeze right from the start. I was able to teach myself how to use it.

Wave accounting is an accounting software that is also free. It is user friendly and has most the features needed for a small business.
Would like Wave to add in more functionality like the Xero and Quickbooks accounting apps if possible.

I would recommend for basic accounting needs. Once you work out how to get around the site it works very well.
Free- Even though I work in Quickbooks I use this system for my personal bookkeeping. I can access it from my clients office and I can generate invoices on the spot. I don't really need the advanced features of QuickBooks for my basic accounting needs.
This wouldn't be suitable for more complex businesses. I don't believe you can track Jobs in it or track inventory. Also I don't like that you can't bill per day instead of per hour.

It was a good experience, but I switched to QuickBooks because I needed more features and reporting.
It is available from anywhere in the cloud, and did allow me to enter in accounts payable and receivable very easily. I also love that it is free.
It did not give me the reporting I need in my business, so I switched to QuickBooks.

Overall I love Wave and the Payroll system. Consider starting a free trial to look around the program.
I have used Wave accounting and recently added on the payroll system for my 2 employees. It was so easy to set up my account and even easier to submit time and get them paid through direct deposit. The employees like being able to log on and see their stubs. The fees are so affordable for a small business. Highly recommend!
Wave was just bought by QuickBooks and I am concerned about how the acquisition will affect this program.

I gave Wave a try and found it to be pretty good. We already use Quickbooks, but i wanted to see if we could consider making the switch at somepoint. It does alot of the features and things you would expect, but also lacks some of the power you would get out of Quickbooks
FREE SOFTWARE Easy to Learn and Use Available via App and Desktop Site
Its not as in depth and feature loaded as Quickbooks etc, but then again, its a free accounting service vs the industry leading pay accounting software, so there is bound to be some changes and issues

Great value for the investment (free) the paid version offered a few more support options, steer clear of you are in construction, currently you'll want quickbooks or another app that has project accounting for those lines of business, otherwise Wave is great!
The feature set of Wave truly sets them apart from the competition, especially when they are offering the services free. Wave offers a mobile app to help manage expenses and business functions. There is a robust chart of accounts platform making organization easier than quickbooks. Wave also has payment and bank account integrations which could save a business owner hundreds of hours of work per year, however this function is clunky.
This would not be a good platform for construction companies as there is not any project accounting functions. There are also no good ways to migrate from quickbooks to Wave. I simply reported my data from quickbooks and have it filed, there is no import functions.

Overall, I am very happy with quick-books. I miss the simplicity of WAVE sometimes, but love how quick books manages my inventory, ordering needs, purchase orders, sales receipts, email, logo's, etc. I would probably have benefited from a class first. Having started using it, I would never go backwards again and give it up. It is part of the company now. One of us!
Pretty much everything needed to run a business is in quick books. Love how everything is mapped out on the home page. Was trying to run small business with "WAVE" and Excel. We were doing it but it was hard to keep track of everything. Love having a program that manages everything you could possibly need all in one place. Lots of help available on line (great), if you know what the problem is and where to look for the answer.
When a mistake is made, trying to find the mistake and fix it can be quite difficult. My Mistake: Figuring out what has to be voided or deleted before I can void or delete something else. Figuring out what the mistake was, knowing where to look for it ( I have entered a couple of entries twice. One as an invoice that was paid, and one as a sales receipt. When I was doing a search for the sale, because...
