Pros

I love the app and gives me accounting on the go. Helps me track invoices and profits with ease.
The ease of use and reputation are by far the greatest part of this product. In addition to this, the range of potential integrations is fantastic.
Really easy to submit expenses, categorise them and check the progress of you submitted expense - super easy to do all from the app.

Pros

Easy & really helpful basis to review and amend bill/invoice dates for cashflows. Scenario planning and comparisons very helpful, and the output from those in charts etc great for presentation.
The integration with Xero was seamless, with lot's of helpful advice on how to get the best out of the cashflow projections.
Overall I have found this software very helpful and also the customer service is really good. I always get a fast response and I love the fact that they are always looking to improve the software.

Cons

There are no delivery notes/packing slips. They tout a "workaround" but be warned, it's exactly 10 extra clicks so it's really not an option if you need this feature.
Our main complaint is that Xero stopped doing payroll in 2018, so now you have to pay an additional fee to a payroll processor such as Gusto.
Changing accounting software from Xero is a horrible experience. They make it very difficult to pivot to other software.

Cons

The only negative so far is the Monthly cost, it is expensive.
Limited additional user controls/ permission limitations.
Its a bit expensive but cheaper than the time needed to calculate manually. Adding new budget items is a little confusing.

Recently changed my 10 years QuickBooks file. Cheaper, easier, awesome!! Was paying a lot of money month for QB that never worked right, took too much time and when my company failed...they left me hanging. Big mistake.... a big one.

Pros

Real-time cash flow. True sync to bank accounts. No more long reconciliations!! Integrates smoothly with everything.

Cons

A couple little kinks with my BI commerce integration but really just takes some tweaking and adjusting.

Pros

Simple to use, many tasks automated. Keeps tracks of invoices, graphs cash flow, live banks feeds allow up to date profit and loss statements.

Cons

Customer support is poor. Emails response only, eight hours ish. During this 2 step authentification process I have been locked out of xero. Cannot process invoices, make payments nor call anyone to for help. My accountant's Xero account manager wont answer the phone, meanwhile Ive been unable to access my accounts for three days. Have no choice but to use another provider and start again.

Essential software for your small business

I've found Xero relatively easy to use and very useful in my business to do my invoicing.

Pros

Like the bank reconciliation section, creation and matching. I also like the expense tracking and reimbursement.

Cons

Didn't like that I had to be an adviser to access certain functions (like easy moving of transactions in bulk after processing). I would like improvements on future cash flow management tools.

We have used it for 6 months in one of the best modules that contains this application that is cash flow, it is excellent to use it if you must schedule activities outside the office that require estimating travel expenses, it allows you to follow up in real time. the expenses and to make changes if necessary since it is a flexible tool and that you can use with only having connection to internet. This has helped us reduce travel expenses, travel because it gives you the necessary to optimize your finances

Pros

It has a module to take the flow of cash that can be used in real time, it also allows you to estimate the budget of expenses of your activities to keep an effective and accurate control of expenses

Cons

It gives the impression of being an application of easy use and not to keep accounts of great complexity what makes it look like a basic tool

"Beautiful Accounting Software". Enough said.

A complete look at my business from objective point of view. It was excellent for looking at cash flow and seeing where your money comes from and what it goes on. This, on top of all the other features generally used.

Pros

This software is the real deal that has whole package. Truely feel in control of your business with easy to use features from invoicing, reconciling, payroll, leave management, time sheets etc. I love the edition and enabling of third party software. I personally coupled Xero with a specialized job & inventory management system. However Xero does that too, and in a more than capable fasion for most business'. Together with Xero, it really is, Beautiful Business.

Cons

The only negative i had with the system was when coupled with the specific third party software that i had intergrated with Xero, it would double up on client invoices and created a little extra work. I did later findout from the Xero support centre that this was an issue i could resolve in features of Xero

Xero takes care of all of the basics and more. Keep track of cash flow for your business on the go or at home and the office. With 3 different plans that are affordable, you can keep track of the money, anytime, anywhere.

Pros

The best thing to take note with this program is that you can get paid faster than anything else. This program not only offers so many things, but this has online invoicing. Send an invoice, and get an update when the client opens it. Xero is not only viewable on a laptop or desktop, but Xero is available as an application, so you can literally take care of business on the go.

Cons

Even though this is not a full 10 rating, it is one software platform to keep an eye out for. My only complaint with Xero, is that they should add some more features.

It has provided a solution for more than 200 of our clients of varying sizes and complexities.

Pros

Xero is first and foremost easy to use and benefits from clever AI functionality. Keeping an eye on the business is much easier via Xero as it shows a snapshot of key data on the dashboard. With the available integrations there are very little limitations to its use and it is well priced for the majority of our clients

Cons

The Payroll module is quite clunky and better options are out there in our opinion. An enhanced cash flow and adding a forecasting element within the software would help. Making it easier to post customer payments on account would also improve an already good product

Still the best accounting software

Xero is still by far the best online accounting software out there for businesses of all sizes. Freelancers or individual consultants might want to look elsewhere for cheaper options with a more appropriate number of features for their needs.

Pros

Xero allows us to easily have a bird's eye view on our business cash flow and management of income vs expenses. The direct integration / collaboration with our accountant gives us transparency and the ability to generate reports, tax documentation and more. Account reconciliation is nice and easy to use.

Cons

Some of the features are hard to find, the information architecture could be improved. More customization options for the invoice design would be a welcome addition.

Xero unquestionably helps improve your productivity and your success in the financial analysis of your company, managing to better manage the human and monetary resources

It is a Web platform that helps you integrate all your financial and accounting information in one place, the use of the board makes it much easier to use your cash flow tools, invoicing, that is, you can manage the entire administrative process with the use of only one software

Cons

Like many software of this style, its free version is very limited, since it has a 30-day use, it could add some more options to try, otherwise it's excellent

Great Accounting Software for Not For Profit

I use Xero for my not-for-profit organization. We have a couple of fundraisers and a lot of transactions in short windows. Xero links with my bank, making cash reconciliation a breeze. I like the reports and can run them on a project basis, helping our Board of Directors understand how effective our fundraisers are. I like that it is online so I can use it anywhere. The expense reporting is good as well, though understanding how to allocate expenses to different fundraisers took some time. Fortunately, the help section is very robust. I recommend this for any small business or not-for-profit.

Pros

Xero makes cash reconciliation very easy.

Cons

Fixed assets has been a little bit clunky.

Have been using Xero for a year now, after switching from MYOB. So easy, I no longer need to outsource bookkeeping services - and I am emphatically not an accounting adept. Deceptively simple and intuitive, with excellent built-in support access. Live bank feeds = fast easy reconcilliations. Multiple options to monitor/manage invoices, stock control, cash flow, etc. Get it!

Pros

One-click slick interactive P&L, Balance Sheet and multiple other reports that used to take me days (and days and days) to produce. Ditto easy peasy Budget Manager system. Easy bank reconcilliations.

Cons

Payroll not yet as smooth as other functionalities - but getting there!

Allows multiple users on an easy-to-use online platform.

Pros

Able to easily work with my tax consultant to get a good idea of my cash flow both in and out with regards to my new e-commerce businesses, and work out my tax reports. Able to add any number of users. Plus the platform is easy to use and understand for everyone concerned, and it is all cloud-based and online.

Cons

I wish the paid plans would be made still slightly cheaper. Because for accounting software, at their core, the functions are simple. Most people do not really need many complicated features.

Xero is an all-in-one accounting software ideal for smaller business that needs reports on the fly and can't rely on a CPA on a monthly basis. At the most basic level, Xero allows users to create and send out invoices and reconcile bank feeds, ultimately creating P&L statements, balance sheet, and cash flow statements. It's relatively easy to learn although there is a steep learning curve.

I like the fact that it alerts me whenever i;m about to make a duplicate transaction.

Cons

The new two factor authentication makes it tiresome to log in especially when the screen is left idle for a few minutes.

Revolutionised our business's financial processes. Aimed at smaller businesses, it has substantial limitations to its permissioning structure which it will need to address before it can truly take on Sage, but still a great business tool.

Pros

Great user flow, simple to use, very time efficient

Cons

Permissioning is limited, meaning you have to grant all or no access to users regardless of what you need them to do.

It has been a nightmare! I was an early adopter, but they quickly forced us to pay their increasing fees instead of honoring us in supporting what began as very buggy software. They stabilized it and it worked okay for some time, but has consistently become more buggy and irritating. They refuse to fix bugs, always blame the customer for doing things wrong. Pros

Disliked the entire experience. They break everything that works well. Cash coding was excellent then they changed it and broke it.

Cons

Automated feeds NEVER work, always buggy, and the mess it leaves takes hours or days to fix. Customer support is a joke. They only send canned responses which rarely if ever answer the question. Their lack of attentiveness in support is appalling.

Our relatively new business operation is experiencing exponential growth. Float gives us the ability to plan and tweak cashflow projections instantly and accurately with access to current and historical data seamlessly through the Xero integration.

The nightmares it gives me over the years I spent trying to maintain cashflow data on cumbersome excel spreadsheets that were already out of date by the time I had updated them :(

We can see exactly how we are tracking against out budget to make sure we are making money.

Pros

The timeline feature is all we need with forecasting. Other cashflow forecasting software I have tried looks good and has plenty of information but I have found Float to have the best forecasting.

Cons

I dont think it imports the Xero Budget.

Great cash flow forecasting tool!

Having an online c/f which links to Xero has enabled me to have c/f conversations real-time with clients and run multiple scenarios. It has eliminated the need for excel s/s which in turn has made my time more efficient. It has increased client engagement and provided me with more time for data analysis rather than s/s checking and data entry.

Pros

Option of manual link-up to Xero so forecast can reflect Xero updates immediately. Ability to run multiple scenarios so clients can see the impact of making different business choices on the cashflow.

Cons

It would be useful to be able do s/s upload of scenario budgets - can currently only do for the main forecast I think.

It is very easy to use and integrates very well with Xero.

Cons

It would be good to allow: - Scenario layers to be used as a base layer for a second scenario that is a variation of the first scenario. - PDF exports from the cash flow and daily breakdown pages that retain the page format.

Properly useful cashflow

We have a renovation project going on at our charity's main building and managing cashflow is crucial. I looked at and tested a load of different providers and Float nailed it for our needs. I can see exactly how we're doing and where the crunch points will be without it being somewhat fictional (which is easy to accomplish in a spreadsheet, especially if it's not linked into the latest data).

Pros

It integrates really well with Xero, making keeping everything up to date v easy.

Cons

Spreadsheet input is a little clunky with manual entry.
