Moving from Zoho Books

2016-03-22

I started using Clientexec in-house version (year 2004) to generate invoices for our customers , then we move to Kbilling (year 2006) which is a standalone software, its a great software, but as it is not cloud based it is difficult to manage, then we move to Zoho Books (year 2013) which served most of our needs.

Pros

Cloud based which allow many user to login to access system. Integrate with many appa

Cons

Not as easy to use as Zoho Books Cannot export data out Unable to sync banking in Singapore Unable to use Braintree as payment gateway Not easy to edit invoice template

Great for accountants, confusing for business owners

2017-04-15

Eventually I switched to Zoho Books and haven't looked back... although Zoho doesn't get much press I found it to have the depth of functionality of Xero with the ease-of-use and visually pleasing layout of Freshbooks.

Pros

- Built in budgeting software - Widely used by accountants and bookkeepers

Cons

- Steep learning curve for the non-professional - Tied to automatic bank feeds - Confusing support

Pros

Zoho Books is a reasonable satisfactory accounting software for small and medium size businesses online

Cons

No integrations available and the functionality is not as user friendly as something like Quickbooks or Xero.

95% Xero at 20% of the cost

2017-06-12

Great functionality at a fantastic price.

Pros

The software is easy to use, stacks up well against Xero (the leading accounting package in use in Australia) for functionality, especially at a small-medium business level and at only 20% of the cost.

Cons

I'd like it to interface much more easily with external reporting packages, but that's endemic across the whole Zoho range (as they have their own reporting module)

It's easy to use but that's as far as it goes

2018-12-18

The overall experience with Zoho Books has been disappointing. We were told that they were capable of so much more than what they seem to be able to deliver on. There's no real good workflow capabilities and no real way to automate processes that the user imports over and over again. If you're just starting out and don't have many sales (especially online sales) or a big budget, this is great accounting software for the value. The fact that the software developers are unable to transfer books from their own platform to an upgraded version or new version of it makes it completely incompatible with any business that is hoping to scale or merge with another company unless you have a bunch of extra staff or hours on your hands as you will be importing every transaction one by one manually.

Pros

It's easy to use if you're doing simple bookkeeping

Cons

I cannot understand why the software developer is unable to do this simple task when they were able to do it when transferring the books from Xero or QuickBooks.
