When I am calling, I am spending the time to get an immediate answer and the process gets dragged out much longer than necessary.   If you want an immediate answer, you are then put on hold to speak to the next available agent.   Since they are not as familiar with your account, in my opinion, there is a higher risk that you will receive an incorrect answer which happened to me on multiple occasions which made undoing the correction even worse.
