Complex time punch corrections

54% of reviewers feel negative about Paycom’s punch management. Users find correcting missed or incorrect time punches confusing and time-consuming, often requiring cumbersome requests and approvals. They say the system’s rounding rules can result in inaccurate time tracking, and the process for adding or editing punches is unintuitive. Many mention that managers have limited ability to make changes after payroll closes, and that the interface for punch adjustments is not user-friendly, leading to errors and delays.

High and unclear pricing

Paycom is significantly more expensive than our prior HRIS, and the pricing proposals are somewhat confusing.

The pricing is complicated and they charge for every solution you launch.

48% of reviewers feel negative about Paycom’s pricing. Reviewers indicate that the platform is expensive compared to alternatives, with additional costs for modules and features not included in base pricing. They say the pricing structure is complicated, with unexpected fees and unclear value for money. Users mention that sales proposals sometimes underrepresent actual costs, and that the pay-per-feature model can make the total investment much higher than anticipated, especially for smaller businesses.

Cumbersome request handling

Financial Planner

The software didn't do a great job with entering PTO where there were weekends or holidays in between, which caused me to have to enter multiple PTO requests for just one set period of time.

44% of reviewers feel negative about Paycom’s request management. Users report that submitting and tracking requests—such as time off, punch corrections, or approvals—is often unintuitive and requires multiple steps. They say the system sometimes provides inaccurate or incomplete information about request status, and notifications may not clear automatically. Many mention delays in response from support or managers, and difficulties in finding or managing requests within the platform, leading to inefficiencies.

Cumbersome login security

General Manager

Trying to remember arbitrary payroll codes and dealing with constantly expiring passwords & security questions lead to team members constantly asking management how to login to their own Paycom.

73% of reviewers feel negative about Paycom’s security and access control. Users report frustration with the multi-step login process, frequent password changes, and repeated security questions. They say these measures are time-consuming, difficult to remember, and often lead to lockouts or the need for frequent resets. Many mention that the login process interferes with quick access, especially when using saved credentials or password managers. Reviewers find the security approach excessive and disruptive to workflow.

Frequent system glitches

Corporate Director of Human Resources

There are often changes that happen in the system that upset/change/revert our already fixed data to something it was before or something completely different than the team doesn't seem to know how/why it happens.

57% of reviewers feel negative about Paycom’s bugs and issues. Reviewers mention recurring glitches after updates, unexpected system changes, and unreliable app performance, especially when switching networks. They say support responses can be inconsistent, and some problems require persistent follow-up to resolve. Users highlight that system errors can disrupt payroll, reporting, and compliance tasks, sometimes leading to manual workarounds. Many feel that a lack of testing and communication about updates contributes to ongoing frustrations.

Efficient diGital onboarding

Compliance Specialist

Many mention that the platform’s automation and reporting features help maintain compliance and accuracy, allowing HR to focus on strategic initiatives rather than administrative tasks.

Straightforward platform navigation

UPS Customer Support

Streamlined payroll management

HR Operations Manager

It has made a noticeable difference in how we manage employee information and payroll, and it has helped create a smoother experience for both HR staff and employees

Payroll Coordinator

Paycom is an always evolving for the better both as an administrator and an employee. As I mentioned BETI has made my work life better because with the "Approve my Paycheck " feature, employees have been able to inform me of issues they see with their payroll before I start processing payroll rather than on Payday when reversing payments or additional physical checks would be needed to reconcile the situation.

85% of reviewers feel positive about Paycom’s payroll capabilities. Reviewers appreciate the integration of payroll with HR and benefits, which minimizes errors and manual reconciliation. They say real-time data updates and automation tools ensure timely, accurate payroll processing. Users value the customizable reporting and the ability for employees to manage their own payroll details, which reduces administrative burden. Many mention dedicated payroll support and robust compliance features as important advantages.

Hr Generalist

Its all-in-one platform streamlines payroll, onboarding, time tracking, benefits administration, and compliance management, helping HR professionals reduce manual tasks and improve accuracy.

Talent Acquisition Specialist

From recruiting and applicant tracking to onboarding, workflows, document management, reporting, and employee self-service, Paycom has helped us streamline processes and create a better experience for both our candidates and employees.

Business Operations Manager

Excellent customer support, streamlined HR and compliance workflows, automated payroll and GL reporting, and significant time savings through reduced manual processes.

Payroll Specialist

The payroll process is seamless, and features like timesheet management, PTO requests, and access to pay stubs make it very convenient for both employees and administrators.

The employee self-service features are especially helpful because employees can easily access their pay information, submit PTO requests, and update personal details on their own.

Payroll Manager

I like Paycom’s reporting tools because they let me review and verify payroll before processing and gives a good tool to balance for the payroll team

Director

I love that Paycom has a system that you can house all of the HRIS documents things like applications integrated in from indeed postings, onboarding online, checks and balances, employees able to update their own information with backup attached for approval.

Finance Operations Manager

The employee self-service features have reduced administrative work by allowing employees to manage many routine tasks themselves, while timekeeping has improved accountability by encouraging employees to review, correct, and approve their own timecards.

For mortgage companies specifically, Paycom’s automation and reporting tools can support compliance with industry regulations while giving employees easy access to self-service features for pay, PTO, and benefits.

It also provides a user-friendly portal for supervisors to access to approve timecards, submit various pay changes/lateral changes, and manage employee reviews all in one place.

Onboarding Manager

Even when using the Advanced Report Writers I have found multiple times that I can't get to the information needed in a report even though it can be found on a display (i.e. the docid assigned to uploaded onboarding documents for the selfie with I9 is only available in the Supervisor signature, and in most cases our Supervisor's do not acknowledge those until the first day of class and we need to review them earlier on the onboarding team, and I haven't been able to find one other place where this information can be seen even though by logic you would know one has been assigned.) While it appears that Paycom makes an attempt to keep things simple, there needs to be more of an Admin/ Developer access that can be granted that would essentially allow access to all data even backend such as the aforementioned IPs and docids if needed.

However, once implemented, the system provides strong organization, better visibility into workforce data, and helps support compliance in a fast-paced mortgage industry environment.

Payroll and HR Administrator

The integration of the system from the flow of onboarding or offboarding and time and attendance into the payroll processing and data management system is seamless. But I must say the customer support and the team that is so responsive to our needs is what truly stands out!

The onboarding experience is seamless for new hires, and the timekeeping tools have reduced manual work while encouraging employees to take ownership of their timecards and approvals.

Human Resiurces

It does not recognize 2 different pay classes at the same time for an employee, If an employee works a 12 hour shift and 24 hour shift it does not calculate correctly.
