We maintain a living best-practice document and hold weekly Onshape meetings to stay aligned, especially when projects involve large assemblies, many dependencies, and complex configuration structures.

There are a lot of things missing such as mate option (in S.W. you can mate axis ) and threads , also the import option for surfaces is not good

There are some solid core features but items such as lofted sheet metal and being able to switch from the default outside angle call out to inside angle call out is still missing just to name a couple.

The feature generation and documentation (drilled and/or tapped holes, fasteners, etc.) is mostly an imported functionality set from the old Draftpak suite they imported into CADkey years ago.

We have found that using a non-parametric 3D CAD modeling software in our custom tool & die work is preferable in most instances to using a parametric modeler like Solidworks.

Inputting bend allowances and corner reliefs is simple and allows easy exportation of flat DXF files to use for manufacturing.

There have been a number of times we have received Solidworks or geometry in other parametric formats from our customers, and when they made a minor change to something it screwed up other aspects of the geometry because they didn't have their constraints set correctly.

It allows us to design in 3D and quickly produce prints for fabrication.
