We started using Sumac to manage our youth programs that work with youth involved in the criminal justice system, and we’ve found it to be extremely helpful, reliable, and secure. When our funders required us to use a secure database for confidential client information, we researched Sumac and have never looked back.

Youth Outreach Worker

At times, the system can be a bit slow when multiple users are logged in, and some customization features (like form templates) require admin access or additional setup support.

The platform makes it easy to keep all information organized, confidential, and accessible only to authorized staff. Whenever we’ve encountered an issue, Sumac Support has been outstanding;  one email away, and their response time is often within minutes.

It has improved how we document client interactions, manage referrals, and collect data across multiple programs.

Youth Worker

It offers great customization capabilities that make it adaptable to different organizational needs.

The only issue we’ve encountered (easily resolved by an administrator) is that client files sometimes become locked, and staff cannot unlock them independently.

It has multiple sections for us to manage data; donors, volunteers and clients.

The software is secure and stable, with regular updates that improve performance. While it takes effort to master, the long-term value is excellent.

With ongoing updates and responsive support, it continues to be a valuable tool for managing programs and client data effectively.

Since 2015, Sumac has met and exceeded my expectations for reliability, ease of use, integrated membership forms, excellent communication options (including allowing for emails to be sent with attachments), and superior customer service in all departments (support, sales, customer service, and billing).

Sumac's highly customizable nature made adding new programs and features effortless.

She took the time to deeply understand our organization’s unique needs and then built thoughtful, tailored solutions to meet them.

There’s a bit of a learning curve at first, but the training resources and customer support make it manageable.

I would not change a thing about how the profiles are built for client information.

We have been able to generate reports for various reasons.

I liked that everything the program needed for data collection and reports were there and easy to use.

Anytime that I have put in a service request, they respond within 24 hours, and have the issue resolved within the same amount of time.

Overall, Sumac is a reliable and flexible CRM for nonprofits.

It takes a little time to get familiar with all the features, but once you do, it’s very easy to use and saves a lot of time.
