My overall experience with Surpass has been positive. While there is a learning curve, the system is secure, customizable, and effective for library management, book cataloging, and tracking both circulating and non-circulating materials.

The only thing that comes to mind is that the user interface in the basic version we use is visually a bit dated, but this has no impact on functionality.

Maybe the graphical interface could use some sprucing up, but that's not a deal breaker.

Fields have to be changed one at a time, with no known rapid change function where all fields with a certain designator may be changed or erased quickly.

It is very difficult to custom design printouts, without mounting a steep learning curve.

We used the available training DVDs for the community members' self orientation.
