It is difficult to delete a large amount of messages at one time If you do not do this it will eventually take up a large amount of your drive storage and if this happens you will also not receive emails until you free up more storage space or pay for more storage.

Just completely delete. And on mobile it is so hard to delete a group of messages on mobile you can on the delete one at a time so if you have a 567 emails you have to delete that all one by one there's no option to select all.
