Pros

It forms the foundation for any successful work environment and the parent company Microsoft is very good about listening to their users feedback and offering solutions in a timely manner as well.

Pros

Gmail is a smart-looking, simple and reliable software. It has stronger spam-detecting features than some of its competitors and is, on the whole, user friendly and intuitive.

EP

Euthymia P.

I love that I can sync across all devices and have my photos and documents attached to one account. Gmail is the best email provider because of its simplicity and ease of use.

AR

It is the best way to connect with others by using gmail chats. It has the one more thing that gmail give space to save our files or doc or any thing else which is very good in this application.

Saqib S.

Cons

The worst part I would say however is the app. They developed an app for the apple store and quite honestly it is slow and very difficult to navigate around compared to the desktop version.

Carl R.

Crash , no easy access from my phone , new emails update rate , older emails storage , retriving the older emails or lost emails is a big deal.

The interface has too much going on. There are a lot of useless features that i needed to turn off.

Barış B.

Cons

Can easily be hacked if your phone or laptop is lost. Hard to recover if forgot password.

BG

Billy Gabriel D.

There is also no customer support for Gmail so if you have an error or problem you are on your own which can be frustrating at times.

LW

The problems of receiving mails because it is connected to google, the lack of offline is a discomfort for my side.

Most professional email service

Excellent. I have been increasingly using Microsoft Outlook and trying to avoid using gmail lately.

Outlook is the only way to go

Reviewed 4 years ago

I have used Outlook since 1999. I've used it at work and at home. Whenever I have a new email account, I usually set it up right away with Outlook because sending attachments and other stuff is just so easy. Also, it's quick sorting and searching are my favorites. Easier to use than just gmail or yahoo mail alone.

Pros

You learn it once and no matter what version you are on, everything works seamlessly.

Cons

My only problem is that sometimes I've had to get help with the settings to make it work with gmail.

Nice layout yet needs a lot of improvement on the app version on Android

Reviewed 3 months ago
Pros

Nice layout I guess. Search feature is also easier to use than Gmail, with suggestion of recent contacts

Cons

Very slow update of inbox on Android. The lag time between the browser version and the app one is at least 10 minutes. Also I don't like the back-to-back event reminder, even 2hr after the event has started. Whenever I receive an event invitation where I have to RSVP, my response will immediately send the invitation into the Sent box, which is not helpful at all.

Great email tool

Reviewed 3 years ago
Pros

Outlook is a cool email tool. Especially the design is way better than with gmail. It also is very basic in its functionality and hence it is fairly easy to use, even if you are not an experienced PC user. The fact that you can choose from several domains when opening the account is yet another advantage. In addition, the Outlook account serves as a Microsoft Account and can also be used with Windows Phone and Windows 8 / Windows 10 computers for better integration.

Cons

Compared to gmail, Outlook is very slim when it comes to functionality. In addition, the adverts are more obstrusive than with Gmail. There is an option, to get an ad-free version of Outlook, but it appears to be fairly expensive, considered what you get. Customer Service from Microsoft is yet another issue. Other than that, great tool.

Best app for organizing your emails, events etc

Reviewed 10 months ago

I am overall satisfied with the product. I feel that there are a lot of features provided which are helpful to organize mails and other stuff. There are integrations with the word and Excel which makes things much more convenient as you can just preview the materials attached without downloading any additional software for the same. There is also an integration with One Drive in case you want to attach something which is more than the allowed size.

Pros

My company and my university has a tie up with Microsoft products. So, we have Outlook as our email client. It's very helpful in organising emails and customising the email firewall to remove spam emails. Additionally it has integrations with all of the best Microsoft products like Word, Excel, One drive which makes it much more convenient and efficient to use. There's also a mobile application for Outlook where we can keep two different accounts logged in which is a very handy feature for me to stay updated with all the emails and my schedule.

Works wonders with Google Suite. Can potentially work better with MS Suite.

Reviewed 3 years ago
Pros

1) Easily integrate with other G Suite apps such as Drive, Sheets, Docs. 2) Easily integrated with MS Outlook Desktop Client through G Suite Sync for Microsoft Outlook.

Cons

1) Filters for forwarding don't support more than 1 email address at a time, so you have to create a new filter just to forward to another email ID. 2) HTML rendering is completely different from MS Outlook. This often wreaks havoc in formatting for HTML text emails. Makes a neatly composed email look like trash. Further, any content from an MS Application pasted into Gmail, leads to a formatting catastrophe. 3) Very plain user interface. 4) Important, official emails often get miscategorized as Updates or Promotions and may get skipped if the recipient isn't vigilant enough!

Using Gmail

Reviewed 3 months ago

In general, my experience with Gmail has been positive, but because of the things listed previously about what I don't like about it, I have started working with Microsoft Outlook installed on the desktop of my computer.

Pros

The things I like the most about using Gmail are: the access to other Google apps from the Gmail page; the ease and speed with which you can search for e-mails and content within e-mails; the functionality available to use in conjunction with e-mails; and the text auto-completion function.

Cons

The things I like the least about Gmail are: how e-mails from the same sender are all grouped together in one entry in the inbox, therefore making it difficult to clearly see the timeline of e-mails; even when the Imap option is selected for e-mails, the delay in updating the Gmail inbox when a third person e-mail software is used, and also not updating the Gmail inbox at all when using Microsoft Outlook online; only having 15 gb of memory space available with the most basic Google Workspace account available (including for Gmail).

Gmail - Easy to access and navigate

I was a "die-hard" Microsoft Outlook user and was not crazy about switching to Gmail. Now that I have been using the program for just over 4 years, I really enjoy it and all of the features it provides.

Pros

*The flexibility of accessing my email from anywhere with internet connection. *The ability to use the "Chat" and "Rooms" for individual and group communication when you cannot meet together. *The ability to basically "text" someone through that same feature when you cannot seem to reach them by phone.

Cons

Emails don't always show the full page when previewing and you have to open the email. I like having the ability to see it all at a glance. Also, I wish you could view all and scroll through all without having to move to the "next 50" emails in your box.

The ability of integrating Google Meet on the same page which ensures I do not miss my conversations. All email contents is backup to the cloud. No hassle of backup and restore email backup when I switch to a new computer.

Cons

Email recall - you only have a few seconds window to recall your emails which you found should not be sent. After which the damage is done.

Gmail Review

Reviewed 5 months ago

Very positive. I have been a loyal user for 5+ years now and do not think I will ever get rid of my account. I really do use it on a daily basis.

Pros

I love how Gmail flags when emails are important and immediately puts them under the priority tab. The software is easy to use and intuitive- it does not take any time to figure out how to use it.

Cons

I use Gmail for my personal email because I find Microsoft Outlook more professional. The software is more commonly used by companies, which says a lot about Gmail, that it is more for personal use. I find the interface less aesthetically pleasing on Gmail than Outlook.

Excellent Email Platform

Reviewed a year ago

The overall experience is great, though I simply prefer Outlook.

Pros

The best thing by far is the integration across the entire Google suite of platforms. The synchronization for things like calendar invites, integration with iOS and other platforms is excellent. The user interface is rather easy to navigate, customizable, and keeps up to a pace conducive to productivity.

Cons

The design is simplistic which is great, but I personally prefer something more like the Microsoft Outlook platform for more power and customization in emails/items you produce, and of course for seamless integration with the rest of the Microsoft Office suite since those I can't go without.

Gmail is the undefeated king of webmail in my opinion - haven't found anything even close

Reviewed 7 months ago

Overall, Gmail makes sending and receiving email super simple, but it also takes into account all the other things we do with email now, like scheduling, sharing documents, collaborating, etc.

Pros

Gmail is super simple to use, integrates beautifully with other Google products (e.g. Google Drive, Google Calendar, etc.), and is just an all around enjoyable experience.

Cons

The web interface can look a bit dated sometimes. I prefer the look of Microsoft Outlook, which matches beautifully with their desktop app. But for web use, Gmail is clean and simple. The organization tools (labels instead of folders) also aren't great for Gmail, but I may just be too indoctrinated into the Outlook system.

Highly organized and easy to get a hang of

Reviewed a year ago

Beyond amazing. I would have to say that without a doubt, I would prefer Google's Email and Suite system above anyone else's

Pros

In all my years of setting up infrastructure, intra-net based (internal) email systems, or even simple deployment of Microsoft Outlook/Office Suite, etc. Google's integrated system has been the best by far. It allows me to communicate with my employer as well as my team without any issues whatsoever. It has a strong international community of literally millions of people helping one another with any and all issues and that's if customer service isn't able to get to you on time.

Cons

Just how slow customer service can be at times.

Great UI, powerful in its flexibility

Reviewed 3 years ago
Pros

Gmail's biggest plus is its flexibility. It doesn't matter what devices and/or other apps you're using, Gmail works and can integrate with probably all of them in a premium way. This feat helps it make up for the lack of some features alternatives like Microsoft Outlook have. You can quite easily pair Gmail with a wide variety of tools and extensions to turbocharge its functionality. This flexibility is inherent to Google Apps and has recently been taken to the next level by things like Google Assistant.

Cons

Google aggregates the content and data from your emails and uses them for advertising purposes. And even sometimes allow third-party app developers to do that. If you care about privacy at all, you should probably choose something else.
