Pros

That gets to be really useful for mundane things like disks getting full and memory getting full. The community shared scripts are great to copy and improve on.
The best feature has to be the pricing model. For Business running minimal personnel it is great for being able to start and grow your business.
It's a great and easy tool, just a few more features and will be perfect.

Pros

The integration of connectiwise with other software is great. This is the reason why I really love this software.
So far it was a breeze to set up and create groups of my PCs I manage. Having the ability to share passes for 3rd party IT help is nice too.
We have been a screen connect/Connectwise Control user since 2012, a brilliant piece of software and pricing is very competitive. It's quick and supports a large number of clients.

Cons

The only thing that has been frustrating is the lack of multimonitor support in Splashtop (the main remote connection software).
Support was unable to explain, poor "documentation" No go.
I still find the patching and scripting tools to be a bit of a bother.

Cons

Horrible, horrible customer service and support. I was constantly getting false positives.
Product support is disappointing. On the few occasions that I have needed to reach out to support, I ultimately figured out how to correct the problem myself.
The big thing we learned was not to use the unstable branch in production and that for more than 4 years the unstable had never caused us issue.

The support is outstanding. Any question I have is answered quickly. Product is easy to use and reliable.

Pros

It was easy to get started with, right out of the box. Still bumping up against some limitations, but I didn't pay to have this product developed to meet my specific needs, so it's to be expected. But they are very active in making enhancements to the product. it seems like at least once a week I get a friendly announcement that some feature has been added. I really like that.

Cons

It integrates with ScreenConnect (which is my preferred method of remote access, the gold standard) but only if you already have a ScreenConnect license. Nice that they give you that functionality, not so nice that it's not built in and I still have to go buy a license from ScreenConnect if I want to use it.

Overall experience with Atera has been a pleasurable and productive experience

Pros

I came from a MSP that used Connectwise and Automate, I find that Atera can accomplish most of the tasks that those two products plus Screenconnect could for a substantially less price. Features and price are a very important balance for a non-profit 1 man IT department. The fact that you can fully run with Atera for a full 30 days and the ease of setup on Servers, PC's and Mac's was very impressive.

Cons

Our integration was pretty straight forward. The knowledge base feature I would like to use but find the current documentation a little lacking. That's when I wish there was a a live support line to contact instead of via email.

Serves clients very well - just wish Splashtop was improved :-(

Pros

Love the value and the features- the interface is clean and its very easy to navigate and deploy agents.

Cons

Remote access could use overhaul - not to happy with Splashtop as compared to other products i have used before (ScreenConnect / Teamviewer) very buggy and unreliable

Great option for small MSP looking for a simple, affordable solution

We're a small MSP with 3 techs. Labtech/Connectwise is WAY overkill. We miss a few features but honestly it hasn't been enough of a hindrance to regret our decision. Cost savings is worth whatever bells and whistles we lost. Can it be better? Sure. But that's why it's great knowing the dev team is constantly releasing new features and improvements.

Pros

Great option for small MSP looking for a simple, affordable solution Simplicity. It felt a bit barebones at first coming from Labtech, but it refocused us on the important things and not get scatter brained. We took on the attitude of "if Altaro doesn't have it, you don't need it". It's been two years and we honestly haven't looked back. It's also great having a flat fee per tech instead of per agent fee. It's a relief when deploying agents since It doesn't feel like I'm incurring additional overhead each time I add an agent. I also appreciate their agile feature releases. It gives me the feeling that the team is not sitting still and always earning my dollar.

Cons

The reporting is a bit weak. I'm used to being able to hook into the database and generate custom reports coming from Connectwise. I used to have a Excel pivot table pulling data directly from Connectwise and it was data nerd heaven. While API is available, it doesn't supply the same volume of information that the built-in reports offer. I submitted a feature request to simply expose the reports...

Atera, Dump the other options Pay per technician ONLY instead of paying for having too many devices

It made it possible to support my company during covid, without it there would have been chaos as so many of our users were using their laptops at their desks from their hire date some of them didn't even realize they were using laptops with docking stations and monitors. Atera allowed us to assist without hinderance.

Pros

Our MSSP at the time had encouraged us to try to buy ConnectWise from them the bill was going to be 160k, this is because we have many stable systems and our users change very little across the network so we had 3 techs and 500 computers. Atera charges by the tech and gives you unlimited devices meaning our 160k bill which we Absolutely needed to have was converted to about 8k by changing from Connect-Wise to Atera.

Cons

It forced me to learn to script because I now have the ability to deploy a script remotely on all devices, This is because Atera can reach any device connected to the internet, even when our users are not on our local network. I can still send command prompts or PowerShell commands individually but to really be able to maximize the function I had to learn to put a script into Atera with an MSI upload (since our devices are not always in the local network i am no longer forced to wait till they connect to push out a GP update) to run an install across all 600 of our devices at once. I guess you could say it was a blessing in disguise though.

Been using Atera for a few months now to replace Labtech. Overall, very glad we made the switch. The biggest thing that sets Atera apart from all other RMMs is its pricing model. Essentially, with only one tech, you can have unlimited seats.. Very appealing to small tech companies. Pros: Pricing is per tech, not per seat Cloud based Great UI Prompt updates Cons: Remote connector can be finicky sometimes I miss ScreenConnect sometimes but that's a small price to pay for how much you save by using Atera

Easy to setup and always evolving in the right ways

Scaled up very fast with minimum overheads.

Pros

Easy to use, SAAS based, unlimited endpoints, great price, solid product with great support. I have used labtech, kaseya with connectwise and Naverisk and no place I have worked at has ever utilised each of the products to their capacity, especially compared to the price. No sense in having un-used features. We have built our Atera instance "our way" to suit our method of doing business and it's amazing. It covers everything we require and is still evolving, but that's part of the fun.

Cons

OSX support is additional. "Select All" to apply script would be useful. Billing / time recording could be more polished.

Cloud based MSP All-in-one software

I've recommended companies that need helpdesk and monitoring software to look at Atera vs. traditional on premises solutions like Kaseya and connectwise. I always get great feedback from both the owners and the users about the ease of use and onboarding, and the value of pricing per user vs. pricing per device. And its truly 100% SaaS. The company is still small and does not have people on the ground in many countries, but does all the support remote and that seems to work well.

Pros

100% SaaS, price per technician, per month. No long term commitments. Combines fully integrated suite for : 1. Technical management of the SMB’s networks. 2. Relationship & Service Desk management between the MSP and the individual SMB. 3. Internal Business management of the MSP’s Business. 4. Remote Control/Support of Servers, Workstations and Networks. 5. Integrated Cloud Services

Cons

Relatively new company. Product has been out for 1+ year now. No local support, but all online out of Israel. Only SaaS pricing (cannot "buy out" complete license), but it's so much cheaper vs. competition that this is no real issue.

After having trialled many different RMM software like Kaseya, ConnectWise, I finally settled on Atera. As a new SMB IT service provider with a relatively smaller client base that was at the time just starting out, I found it difficult to justify the ~$10 per endpoint that most of these other RMM software charge.
