Stored procedures and functions can be debugged, and unit tests can be created using the tSQLt framework. Schema can be compared and synchronized, as can data from different databases. Schema snapshots may be created, and table data can be imported or exported in CSV, Excel, XML, and other formats.
For administrators, dbForge Studio for SQL Server facilitates setting up accounts and permissions. Databases can be copied, moved, or upgraded. Backup and restore functions are also included. The software offers SQL server performance monitoring, and traces can help diagnose server problems. It can also find and fix database index fragmentation issues. For DevOps, the software can automate build and deployment processes. dbForge Studio for SQL Server is a Windows application, but it can function in the Linux and macOS environments via CrossOver. Supports SQL Server 2022.
