They stopped supporting it, took the older version off their website and want me to purchase a new "perpetual license" for $300.

It integrates well with all my NAS devices, Using the "goodsync explorer" program I am able to see all my backup locations including my Google Drive and BackBlaze B2 storage. And the price just can't be beat for what this program is capable of.

Ability to detect file changes on MY NAS, MY PC and my cloud service so everything is backed up nearly instantly.

GoodSync v9 is no longer available for download.

The GoodSync Explorer feature makes it easy to see the files on any of my devices or RDP into them if need be.

Then why doesn't my previous GoodSync2Go license carry over?

All of our family photos, at least the electronic ones, are backup through GoodSync.

Now every file I save is automatically backed up a few seconds after I save it.

My wife, who works with me, has GoodSync on her computer.

I tried online backup and it was more trouble that it was worth.

Configuring backups can be a pain due to this oversimplification.

We needed a backup solution that would work for remote locations and did not need all of the "extras" that some products have that end up pushing costs up.

Very quick and easy to install, after that all customer installations can be monitored, controlled and also updated centrally via a website, this saves us an extremely large amount of time when supporting our customer systems. We are using Altaro VM backup form about 4 Years and we will continue to use it for its simplicity, reliability, average cost and first-rate support!

It used to be that the backups were easily accessible, vhd files in a subfolder, nowadays it's more complex, I guess because of regulations/ security.

The only con I have is that we have had some occasional issues when using large USB devices for local backup.

The multiple auto checks of the backup Images by a process like a schedule restore check, Image check, and bad block check ensure your backup is good to restore as well as at the time of restore checks it automatically disables the network adaptor of VM to avoid the IP conflict.

On the MSP dashboard managing hosts regards licencing is a little tedious and confusing.  

Clients are never to be trusted to do what is asked so having the ability to know the basics have been done helps a lot

For high complex Systems its not the best suited since it does not has the most options.

This has since changed but last I checked it adds a nice bit to the cost if you want it as an addon.

Fortunately i've never had to restore a VM, however I'm pretty confident how to restore and I hope it would work just as advertised.

Templates would be great to not have to make the same settings for every VM

Sometimes the error messages in the product are confusing and do not help.

They seem to produce alot more errors with Altaro that with previously used products.  

Overall this is a good solution if you are looking for a simple/easy-to-understand solution for doing backups, and the price point is low, and can afford it.

Other backup packages were either way too simple or way too expensive and too complicated.
