Nagios XI can be quite complex to set up the first time you use it.

The GUI doesn't seem to be most updated and some of the features are hard to find (UX issue)

Nagios XI was easy to setup (from the tools we tested), although it has many plugins you can always and easily create your own plugin (anything that is measurable), it has good alerting system when it comes to emails, seems like the GUI/UX could have been more modern but overall experience is very good.

Certain features doesn't help you get down to the root-cause of the issues and investigation has to be done outside the tool.

Overall experience is good but can be difficult time to time setting up new alerts or services inside the software.

I like the custom Monitors that can be created.

I am not a fan of having to rescan a device to pick up changes. If you rescan a device, you may have to disable monitoring for all other new ports picked up on the switch.
