TestChimp overview

What is TestChimp?

TestChimp is an all-in-one quality assurance platform designed for human-agent hybrid teams to collaborate across every phase of software testing. The platform unifies scripted testing methodologies with AI-powered agentic capabilities to support test planning, test authoring, test execution, exploratory testing and QA intelligence in a single environment. TestChimp serves software development teams, startups and enterprises that seek to optimise testing workflows while preserving execution speed, scalability and maintainability without vendor lock-in.

The core of TestChimp lies in SmartTests, which are standard Playwright scripts extended with AI commands for plain English steps. Test authors can embed ai.act and ai.verify calls alongside traditional scripted steps to balance stability and flexibility. SmartTests execute in continuous integration environments with the familiar Playwright runner. Built-in requirement traceability is achieved via in-code scenario linking, enabling tests to reference specific scenarios and screens within code comments. A visual no-code editor sits on top of the underlying code, allowing non-technical contributors to create and modify tests without risking syntax errors. Test generation is supported through plain English scenario descriptions, manual step recording via a browser extension and direct import of existing Playwright folders.

Test planning in TestChimp treats user stories and test scenarios as structured markdown files that reside in version control alongside source code. Stories and scenarios are organised in folder hierarchies that mirror application structure rather than database tables or ticket forms. AI-assisted authoring helps draft stories, expand scenarios and identify additional test paths using existing plans and scripts as context. Exploratory testing is driven by specialised AI agents that navigate the application using SmartTests as a guide to surface user experience issues. The Bug Source Analytics Agent inspects the DOM, UI elements, network traffic, console logs and browser metrics to detect visual, security, performance, layout and accessibility issues. Additional agents include a Localization Checker for translation and right-to-left layout concerns, a Theme Checker for color contrast and aesthetic validation and a Form Tester for input validation and edge-case scenarios.

The QA intelligence module delivers coverage analysis that highlights missing test scenarios, recurring failure hotspots and user journeys affected by UX issues without manual spreadsheet maintenance. TrueCoverage correlates real-user events with test runs to reveal untested behaviors through metadata coverage analysis and event funnel insights that map user transition patterns. API integration through the AI-enhanced Playwright framework maintains compatibility with existing continuous integration and delivery pipelines. A file-based approach to test planning and scenario management ensures that all artifacts remain accessible to both human contributors and AI agents under version control, enabling seamless alignment with development workflows and third-party tools.
