Azure DevOps Services - 2025 Pricing, Features, Reviews & Alternatives

What is Azure DevOps Services?

Azure DevOps Services is designed to help small to large businesses streamline prioritization, release management, and portfolio management operations. It enables software developers to automate the process of software development using testing, package management, repositories, and more.

The platform allows professionals to build and test Azure pipelines and deploy them with CI/CD solutions that work with multiple languages and cloud environments. It lets administrators connect the system to GitHub or other Git providers and deploy continuously. Features of Azure DevOps Services include approval workflows, analytics, collaboration, file management, an activity dashboard, troubleshooting reports, and more. It enables users to create, host, and share packages with team members.

Azure DevOps Services facilitates integration with various third-party platforms such as 7pace Timetracker, Docker, Sentry, Slack, and more. It also helps DevOps teams to deploy containers to individual hosts or Kubernetes and track the progress of work using configurable Kanban boards and interactive backlogs.

Integration rating: 4.6 (5)

I routinely use both GitHub and Azure DevOps Services, therefore I've found the connectivity between the two to be really helpful. I can more effectively manage my projects by combining the advantages of both platforms by linking my GitHub repositories with Azure DevOps Services. I value being able to use GitHub's extensive version control and pull request features in addition to using Azure Boards to manage my work items and track progress. I can streamline my work process, minimize context switching, and retain all of my project data in one location thanks to this connection. Overall, I heartily urge anyone who uses both platforms to take advantage of the Azure DevOps Services interface with GitHub.

By constantly performing regression testing when updating SW after release, we could detect errors early, implement countermeasures early, and avoid rework.

Most repositories are in GitHub, and it makes sense to integrate with Azure for easy deployment.

Pros
Azure DevOps has great code management abilities for developers to build, commit & deploy their code. If used properly with the Scrum/Kanban boards, the ability to tie the work to the code is crucial.
I like the eas of use, very good integration possibilities in the already existing Office tools like teams or to-do app. I also like the Azure devops market place.
One of the best tool for the organizations who follows agile methodologies. Azure DevOps services makes product/software development easy with its user friendly and everything in one place feature.
Cons
For those who is sick on security, keeping the code and projects in a cloud could be a problem.
I don't think anything is missing, but at some points it's not very intuitive. I still have to search every time to get to specific features of my build and release configuration.
The design feels cluttered and I often have a hard time finding tickets or finding things via search. I feel like thing get "lost" especially for programs that have 100's of tickets within the system.
