Pros

We can now "see," in real-time, the progress of all our testing and release pipelines. The integrations to other software development applications is excellent, via the API's or plug-ins.
Customer support and interactions have been outstanding. Zephyr has a Customer Advisory Board, which meets twice a year, to listen to, and respond to the industry.
I worked mostly with Jira Plugin and it's pretty easy, obvious software, although Zephyr Teams & Enterprise more powerful. Easy to monitor testing process, schedule testing and making adjustments.

Pros

Another thing I like a lot are the UI Scripts, where you can customize the instance adding in or removing features and functionality. They are very powerful and super useful for us.
For me the biggest advantage of using TestRail was its JIRA integration. Ability to create, edit and manage testcases as well as testsuites is amazing.
For the features we needed, TestRail was the best fit and has a great price.

Cons

Our organization needs to run test on weekly basis and we lost lot of time redacting them on the interface that can reject the input for any hidden reason.
Really slow to use, the integration with JIRA leads to data loss. Hard to link snapshot, zip and other precondition or result artifacts and access it on execution.
So disappoint it with the Roll out releases and support.

Cons

Unable to recover deleted test cases, as once I accidentally deleted a test suite when I was trying to delete a test plan. Also bulk option to mark test cases Pass / Failed / Blocked is not possible.
Traceability is based on how you configure. Little confusing if you try to explain to users not familiar with the tool.
On top of this there is no option to delete all or multiple test suite attachments - you must remove each one individually. Very inconvenient and tedious.

TestRail

Straight forward, easy to get going

Reviewed 4 years ago

I took lead on finding a test case management tool and Test Rail stood out in comparison. Its now being used at an enterprise level for our teams.

Pros

Straight forward, easy going and great options between enterprise and non enterprise vs on prem and on cloud. Great to customize and great price.

Cons

Not a whole lot, did not get to try out the integrations with some automation but there is a lot of documentation surrounding support.

TestRail and JIRA

Reviewed 5 years ago

Works well for our enterprise!

Pros

The software's very integrated with JIRA

Cons

They could improve testing matrixes, reporting like KPIs, Test Coverage, and really need a link between requirements/stories and code coverage.

Cons

I didn't encounter any major issues with TestRail.

TestRail

Wonderful for testing and analytical reviews

Reviewed 2 years ago

I have used TestRail for the last five years for user acceptance testing and have used it for creating test cases, adding results viewing the history of results, creating reports, etc. It has been of great help for me and made my work as a QA very easy. I can't imagine working with excel and losing results due to some problem with my workstation or something, plus it becomes very difficult to maintain it in one place. TestRail is a great product and I highly recommend it. I also thing TestRail can still take some inspiration from zephyr to include their reporting metrics and easier importing of test cases and their mapping.

Pros

For me the best thing about TestRail is the visual representation of the test results in the form of graphs, This gives me a quick and easy idea about the stability of the tested software, another thing that is very useful is the format of test suites and test runs.

Cons

I think importing testcases from excel can be made a little easier with better mapping and easy uploads.
