Signature detection and matching is occasionally off, and editing text in the various item description fields can be annoying.

My favourite features are how easily you can add in an agenda at the start of a deal and add in signature pages, schedules and create a closing book at the end of a deal.

It has taken a while to shift from the previously paper based systems we used, but the efficiencies we are starting to see make the effort put in worthwhile!

That we can only import word agendas as a word template, we cannot make any edits during the import process.

Allows me to create and retrieve documents for large commercial files much more quickly than before.

M&A transactions are high paced, so it would be appreciated if we could get real-time updates when documents are uploaded.

I think the only con that I've come across is that the closing book cover page sometimes doesn't look great and requires tweaking to make it look a bit more polished.

I'm happy to help them code documents, set up templated and use the variables to complete their documents in record time!  

It used to have some difficulties syncing with docusign (an e-signing platform) - but these have since been sorted.

Closing Folders has helped solve disorganized desktop closings with manual signature pages, saving us time and energy, and helping to deliver a cleaner final product to clients.

At the moment these are available under numbering (you can remove the numbers) but they are not flush with the margin.

I always mention using closing folders to other co-workers if they come to me with something that they are struggling with doing manually.  

This saves many hours of work for manually sorting and binding closing books.

It's not that easy to jump in from one deal to the next when this occurs (i.e. we have two separate deals open, but hard to jump between without backing out of one).

Very useful for tracking close and making record books.

I won't go back to compiling any other way.

Although using closing folders takes some time up front to set up, it saves hours throughout a transaction and post closing.

It allows us to effectively manage versions of documents and signatures.

I am able to provide more value to my clients because I can focus on the legal aspects of a deal, and less time on the administrative aspects - like organizing signatures and putting together a closing book.

For instance, I use CF to run blacklines, create signature packages, assign signatories, insert variables (this feature helps you insert a date, or anything else really, into all documents at once, so no more manual copping and pasting) and create closing books.

There are also many instances where multiple lines will refer to a single document, and we use the notes column to say "see item X" - but when compiling the closing book you don't get the option of assigning multiple rows to 1 item.  

Transaction Paralegal

My only real issue thus far is the fact that we cannot set more than 2 signing officers for a company and sometimes we have issues with Docusign linking back to Closing Folders but those two things are very minor in comparison of all of the excellent things that Closing Folders offers.
