Pros

Great for triggering any action you want really and so useful if you are sending out large volumes of emails every month. Integration options are great too.
Its almost intelligent interaction with prospects allows our team great confidence in engaging and in capturing quality leads.
Marketo customer support team is very responsive and always available to help, this is something I like the most. Marketo's simple and easy user interface is amazing and very easy to use.

Pros

The team is great with helping you troubleshoot any problems and my team loves how easy it is to use.
I really love and appreciate the ease of use. It's super easy to throw together an email, assign tags, create lists, etc.
I am so happy to have Active Campaign on board. It is just what I needed to help promote my online program.

Cons

Here are a few cons which shouldn’t be ignored. Reporting of Analytics of Marketo is very bad and in addiction smart list designs are not flexible and it is very difficult to design them.
With customization that is available, it is possible to get a bit lost in the hugeness that is Marketo. Lastly, there are no customizable reporting options which can make things hard.
Not much return on investment here; very basic functionality, and problems with our website getting clocked as spam form our target cusotmers.

Cons

And that hurt our webinar registration for that week (which was a bummer) and we found out about this on the day of the webinar.
The major problem is the lack of ability to copy an email to more than the recipient. The lack of this feature is putting the continued use of this product in doubt.
I've a problem to pay for my upgrade plan due to an currency problem. The website automatically converts the price to my local currency.

For the price, you can't beat all the features it has. It has 95% of what marketo has at a fraction of the price

Pros

Had the chance to switch over from Marketo to ActiveCampaign and ever since it has been a plus. It's a very user-friendly software once you've understood the platform.

Cons

Honestly we haven't had any bad experiences with the software per se, although once I had to call Tech Support and it's very frustrating to wait a long time when you need assistance in a timely manner.

ActiveCampaign is a great choice for those who have fairly strait forward marketing automation needs and aren't looking for something exceptionally powerful.

Pros

ActiveCampaign is a great little marketing automation tool that provides some great features at a price more reasonable than some of the more "enterprise" solutions like say Marketo or Hubspot.

Cons

It always seems to run a little slow for me, not like so slow to be unusable, but slow enough that I notice it.

Pros

The team is responsive and I very much enjoy the free consulting hours we got from them. They have many resources to help us get the most from the tool.

Cons

I don't have 100% confidence is in the accuracy of the email campaign performance metrics. Click bots mess with our click through rates for example. I wish the custom reporting interface was easier to use as well.

Decent for Email Marketing

ActiveCampaign fulfilled our needs for event email marketing. It was helpful, but not the best tool that I've used for email marketing. I prefer the functionality of MailChimp and ConstantContact, and the advanced features of Marketo.

Pros

ActiveCampaign is mostly intuitive, and deploying emails to contacts is easy. It gets the job done in terms of email marketing platforms.

Cons

I find ActiveCampaign to be more difficult for less-experienced clients to use compared to other platforms like MailChimp and ConstantContact. For experienced marketers, this is less of a concern. I also with the on-platform reporting features were more robust and detailed, but overall for the majority of smaller businesses this is also less of a concern. I do not like that contacting customer service is a hassle on this platform. There are some preset features that are easier to change on other platforms but require contacting customer service here. The preset limitations should be clearer to users.

Overall we've been pleased with the functionality.

Pros

Active Campaign is being used cross-departmentally to engage our current customer base and those opted-in prospects. It's become beneficial for our drip campaigns to our SW users and and as a great starting point to engage our prospects via beautifully designed newsletters and campaigns.

Cons

They finally improved HTML capabilities so our team is in a much better place. There are still times when building an email from scratch is tricky but overall the team was able to figure it out quickly.

ActiveCampaign is one of the best options for startups and smbs when looking for marketing automation and email software. It's much cheaper than the bigger guys (marketo, hubspot) but has similar features. Definitely worth considering if you're on a budget but want advanced automation.

Cons

The HTML builder is a little buggy sometimes, and their support isn't super fast. But overall I'm happy with the product.

I have used ActiveCampaign for a few years with different companies. It is seamless to create email workflows and engage with customers.

Cons

The pricing jumps quite a bit when you factor in the CRM portion of the software. As a startup, I feel like I'm missing out on some of these features, but can compensate with other apps.

The overall experience was positive, with some really nice automation features for marketing. The tool is also budget friendly as compared similar softwares like Hubspot or Marketo. However Activecampaign is more focused around email campaigns and customer engagement while Hubspot can be your all in one marketing suite.

Pros

ActiveCampaign is a nice email marketing and automation tool, which user friendly and easy to use features. You will not have problems in creating workflows for your campaigns even if you are not very tech savvy.

Cons

The advance features of the tool are not that easy to understand, also the platforms gets slow when dealing with large data like if you importing a big contact list into or exprting previous campaigns data.

What makes our marketing campaigns with ActiveCampaign more successful is that it has very easy to use communication tools that allows us to communicate effectively at a more personal level with potential leads and customers. It has automations which allows us deploy automated responses to offer quick answers to questions from the audience. ActiveCampaign allows us to adopt better marketing strategies which helps us supercharge our marketing activities to see better results in terms of attracting new customers.

Cons

There has been nothing off with ActiveCampaign. We get the exact thing and services we require and there has been no setbacks at all.

Pros

I've always seen Hubspot and Marketo as platforms that do everything - and cost more than I can spend. After finally spending time with them, yeah, they're cool, and I believe packaged platforms will increase as time goes on, but for now nothing compares to using ActiveCampaign for automation and a solid custom stack. And I'd call ActiveCampaign the core.

Cons

The forms aren't great compared to Gravity, but duh. The email builder is pretty weak - who cares? The CRM is alright, but I'd link it to another. The automation and other services are brutally efficient.

The Best Email Automation / CRM Software For The Price

Pros

The best part about ActiveCampaign is the value you receive with the price. ActiveCampaign although I love it, is no Hubspot, Marketo, Pardot, etc. but it's the next best thing if you're looking for a lean marketing CRM, sales pipeline, and marketing automation software with less than $1-50k a month budget. I recommend ActiveCampaign to all startup clients.

Cons

ActiveCampaign's software and UI could be cleaner and nicer like Hubspots. It's analytics are pretty non-existent but yet again for the price... AC is the best.

Active Campaign - early days

Excellent, especially the learning resources and help desk, they are literally the best I've encountered in 25 years on system. They have a lot of great people to engage with, and well thought out tutorials to follow.

Pros

I think the ability to send, and customise, emails to my list, with a level of sophistication in the controls, is going to make a real difference to the studio here.

Cons

It's perhaps a little over featured for my needs, but the opportunity to dive in deeper may appeal in due course!

Pros

I like the automations best and the ability to re engage with inactive subscribers. I also really like the availability of one of the techs [SENSITIVE CONTENT] who has been dedicated to helping me optimize the platform.

Cons

I don’t like that I cannot bulk import contacts or that I’ve gotten my account put on hold a variety of times without clear explanation.

Pros

ActiveCampaign helps us to facilitate more personalized marketing campaigns that allows us to target our customers more effectively. It helps to keep a smooth communication and interaction experience with our potential leads at the most important stages. With ActiveCampaign automations, we have been able to offer our customers and leads quick responses.

Cons

There is nothing to like least about ActiveCampaign. It has been so excellent and we have never experienced any major issues to complain about.

We have achieved great results from our marketing campaigns since we started using ActiveCampaign to run our marketing. It helps us to connect and engage with new customers effectively which allows us to close new deals easily.

Pros

We are experiencing the joy of using ActiveCampaign to marketing our products. It is a super experienced product for marketing and help us achieve more precise marketing campaigns. It helps us to have productive engagements with potential customers and this forms a strong base towards closing new deals. It uses lots of automations and this reduces our work by reducing dependency of human intervention on some tasks like replying to customer queries.

Cons

ActiveCampaign has a super friendly user interface which makes it easy to interact with the available features. No dislikes about it.

Cons

The system does take a bit of getting used to, but their support is always helpful and super responsive.

ActiveCampaign has amazing automations which speeds up and improve the efficiency of our marketing tasks. It allows us to come up with personalized campaigns to capture a targeted audience. It makes it easy to engage and share information with leads during campaigns. It very simple to customize and working with it has been easy.

Cons

ActiveCampaign has been very responsive to all our needs. We have not found anything to not like about it.

Extremely high value Marketing Automation system priced at a highly competitive rate to traditional enterprise tier Marketing Automation/CRM solutions while meeting almost 80-90% of the features and functions of traditional enterprise solutions. Many organisations that are currently on enterprise Marketing Automation solutions could easily migrate to ActiveCampaign and see a better Ux for their teams and significant savings of over 70% on their tooling costs.

Pros

A step up from most Email Marketing tools that brings a powerful Marketing CRM and automation system. Highly competitive against the enterprise grade platforms of Hubspot and Marketo. Brings much of the day to day functionality you will typically need and avoids a lot of the excess and bloat of the larger enterprise platforms. Easy to setup and build automations and campaigns. Very cost effective Marketing Automation CRM that integrates well with all other Enterprise tools

Cons

Field management and auto-fill functionality is lack. Email/Templates builder while works well is very rigid and locks in to the system, requiring custom builds to be made inside the platform. Little to no documentation or functionality for importation of external builds.

Smart, intuitive platform

They have the most amazing customer service team, they're always there when I need help with something. The switch over to ActiveCampaign was also extremely well done, I had support of a team member leading me through every step, advising me on the best set up for my needs.

Pros

I like the amount of data it captures to help me with my marketing, and I enjoy the ability to have an intuitive system of tagging and ranking my subscribers so I can see who is highly engaged and who may need some extra help to engage. I also really appreciate the higher deliverability rates and the amazing customer service.

Cons

I wish I could set the font and the font size as a template when I'm writing emails, ie have it default to the font I want, instead of it going back to another font.

Pros

Active Campaign continues to improves its product monthly. Their technical support is excellent and they continue to enhance their product while still maintaining a palatable price point. Where else can you get an email marketing software along with a CMS and marketing automation for a much lower price than Marketo? We also love that they've integrated lead scoring, along with site tracking. Who doesn't want to target your hottest leads? We're very impressed with Active Campaign vision to help their customers. Also, their automated sequences helped us cut down time and energy that we were wasting. There is so many ways to customize your marketing and Active Campaign fit the bill for us.

Cons

Just need a better form builder. However, we have been told that this is in the works.

We have experienced a great improvement on the returns we get from our marketing since we started using ActiveCampaign. It made it easy to facilitate better marketing strategies using automations to create personalized marketing campaigns which has helped in attacking more customers.

Pros

Marketing products are known to be difficult to use but we experienced a different approach with ActiveCampaign. When using it, the intuitive user interface makes it easy for use to navigate through it and engage with features. ActiveCampaign allowed us to improve our marketing practices by automating some of the routine tasks. It makes it easy to build well personalized marketing campaigns which helps us have high quality leads and attract more customers to our business.

Cons

It was not easy to get started with ActiveCampaign but we received a lot of help from the customer support team. We are happy after learning the basics, the experience became much easier.
