Pros

The crawl speed is reasonably fast, and the custom metrics like Domain Authority are great tools. The competitor benchmarking is great, too.
Moz is also incredibly affordable compared to more enterprise solutions. Their training and support team is wonderful and they offer tons of great FREE resources on SEO training, best practices, etc.
High quality educational content. This content is way more than helpful at helping you better understand how to be better at ranking.

Pros

The new link graph feature is amazing. Being able to see tiers of links allows my team to better analyze competition and saves us lots of time and money.
Their historic index is one of the most comprehensive on the market comparing to other link checker tools. The historic index feature is very helpful when conducting my link detox campaigns.
I think the amount of data that Majestic provides compared to other tools. I also like the citation and trust flow measurements of Majestic.

Cons

Poor navigation structure can make it difficult to find the tool you are looking for. It makes it less intuitive than suites such as SEMRush or AHREFs.
It's also slightly disappointing that some of the reports are not available until a week or more after you load up the keywords.
Not a lot of customization in the reporting. There are also a lot of error messages that occur when utilizing the different features of the site.

Cons

There aren't really any things that I don't like about Majestic.
One con is that there is no backlink alert where you can set up your domain and quickly get alerted about any influx of low quality backlinks at any time.

Moz Pro

A Good Supplement for SEO Intelligence

Reviewed 7 months ago

Moz provides a good toolset that can be a supplement to other platforms. Though I would not rely on it as my primary source of research, it definitely provides good insight.

Pros

LinkExplorer is a robust feature providing good backlink insight. Though it may not be a Majestic or AHREFs, there are features that are rather unique like the Spam Score.

Cons

Poor navigation structure can make it difficult to find the tool you are looking for. It makes it less intuitive than suites such as SEMRush or AHREFs.

Vendor response

Complete Review of Moz

Reviewed 4 years ago
Pros

Moz Pro a comprehensive SEO software suite with several SEO functionalities in one web-based tool. Moz Pro has a visually-pleasing, non-intimidating design different from the more compact interfaces of other SEO tools (SEMrush*, Ahrefs, Majestic SEO or Raventools). Two strong points are Open Site Explorer and Keyword Explorer, which address the core issues of SEO well Another important factor of MOZ it the fact it has the strongest community behind of any SEO tool, compared to SEMrush*, Ahrefs, Majestic SEO or Raventools.

Cons

Their database/crawler/metrics are just available for US, so is useless for sites and SEO outside the US

Moz Pro

Perfect for small businesses, not for power users

Reviewed 3 years ago
Pros

Part of what I like about the software is what I like about the organization behind the software: They're very thoughtful and scientific about each feature they add. There's a robust set of tools around keyword research and link analysis--the basis for any SEO campaign. There's enough utility here in a nicely-presented package to be helpful--and not overwhelming--to orgs that want to get smarter about their SEO game.

Cons

Moz is great for the basics, but power users are going to find a lot missing. For example, their link index is much smaller than the ones in ahrefs or Majestic, and anecdotally I've found that their keyword data contains much less search volume information than competitors, as well.

Moz Pro

One of the Simpler SEO Tools

Reviewed 2 years ago

I've used Moz as well as ahrefs, Majestic, and SEMRush. Moz has one of the cleanest dashboards and offers simplicity. That said, it's too simple for some of my advanced projects. I prefer the backlink database of ahrefs and the audit tools of SEMRush so it's hard for me to justify the monthly subscription cost.

Pros

Moz is pretty easy to use. The UI is nicely designed and they have most of the tools you need to improve your SEO

Cons

Backlink tools are lacking. It's tough to beat ahrefs which makes it more difficult to justify the subscription cost.

Moz Pro

No longer an industry leader, but still a solid product

Reviewed 2 years ago

Moz Pro helps us with Local SEO, keyword tracking (for specific locations which is awesome), backlink analysis, reporting, and technical site crawls. I utilize the community Q&A to bounce questions off of other experts as well.

Pros

Having used many SEO softwares and Digital Marketing Suites, my favorite thing about Moz is its approach to data. The team at Moz is meticulous in producing accurate and responsible data within their tool. Domain Authority (along with the MozBar) are incredibly helpful in gauging a site's ability to rank. I love their keyword tracker - it's really easy to use. Since its most recent update, Moz's link explorer is now one of the best and boasts one of the largest link databases in the industry. Last but not least, the Moz community is incredible. The Q&A is great and high quality, really helpful.

Cons

I don't necessarily dislike anything about Moz (I do think the user interface could be better), but in general almost every one of their tools has a superior option out there. SEMRush has far better keyword and topical research tools, Screaming Frog performs a better crawl, Majestic (subjectively) has better link data, and Ahrefs has better reports (in my opinion). I also think since seemingly changing who they do citation management through, their Local SEO tool is not what it should be.
