2018-12-15

Would 100% recommend - find it a lot easier to use than say HootSuite.

Pros

Easy to use - simple dashboard and scheduling function. It's FREE!!

Cons

Would be helpful to have ability to post across other platforms such as FB/Insta.

TweetDeck

2019-04-16

Overall, TweetDeck is a very easy way to manage social media accounts and it can be very helpful in that regard. However, in an era where there are many other software that do a similar thing, I think they need to do more to stand out from the crowd.

Pros

I like that it helps you schedule tweets and other social media messages in advance so you don't have to constantly be on each platform.

Cons

To me, it's always seemed a little outdated which is why I switched to Hootsuite a few years back.

Tweet deck is wonderful

2018-11-30

It's kind of like a mini hootsuite just for twitter, the only reason I don't use it as much as I used to is because I stopped using twitter.

Pros

It made managing twitter fun again. I'm not sure why or how it happened, but tweetdeck also saved me a few times when a message wouldn't appear on the desktop/browser version of twitter's inbox but for some reason it appeared on Tweetdeck.

Cons

Once in a while my browser will freeze when I'm on there

Great Tool for Managing Twitter - if needed

2018-06-28

Pros

I strongly preferred Tweetdeck over Hootsuite.

Cons

Tweetdeck was pretty top notch a few years ago but has since stopped innovating quite as much. There are other tools that have now surpassed Tweetdeck's capabilities.

For serious Twitter users and some business users, all free

2018-06-24

Pros

Before you pay a service like HootSuite, you owe it to yourself to check out TweetDeck first.

Cons

Neither analytics nor statistics are integrated directly into TweetDeck as they are in products like HootSuite and there's no option to get them there either.

Not a perfect tool, but none of them are!

2018-12-29

Pros

Being able to schedule tweets, use across multiple company accounts, follow hashtag and lists easily, easy log-in app

Cons

I have tried multiple, and I find Tweetdeck to be the most intuitive, however hootsuite is a decent competitor.

Follow Twitter Activity at a Glance

2018-04-16

Pros

TweetDeck provides a simple dashboard that enables you to follow all kinds of activity on Twitter across multiple users: messages, notifications, particular hashtags, etc. With OSX notification functionality, you can be sure you'll never miss a like or mention.

Cons

., Buffer, Hootsuite). Still, it does very well in that regard.

FREE Forever & Functional

2019-01-03

Pros

This is very similar to some of the parts in HootSuite.

Cons

I wish to have all of my social accounts managed in one place. Since TweetDeck is part of Twitter, this is obviously not possible and won't be. So, I'm not likely to keep using it. Oh well.

TweetDeck Saved My Life

2019-03-05

Pros

I will use this tool every. single. time. over something like Hootsuite. Love the columns and love that it is only Twitter focused.

Cons

Scrolling through different feeds you've set up within TweetDeck isn't perfect, but I never scroll to find new content there anyway. Near perfect product!

Pros

Always seemed easier to use than Hootsuite to me.

Good for scheduling and monitoring Tweets; not the tool for overall social media management

2018-08-13

Pros

I like the interface that allows you to see multiple streams across one screen, like scheduled tweets, timeline, mentions, etc. It’s very easy to write and schedule tweets, and it’s also nice that you can interact on Twitter (like responding and retweeting) right from Tweetdeck.

Cons

Overall, Tweetdeck works, but Hootsuite does essentially the same thing and can also manage FB and other platforms.

Hootsuite Review

2018-11-27

Pros

It does the job. I never had issues with things not working. They also have great webinars and content on their site and social media channels. I went there frequently to read about social news, best practices, etc.

Cons

I really disliked the clunkiness of it, especially in Tweetdeck mode.

An alternative is Tweetdeck.

Pros

1. I love the fact that you can post to Instagram while posting to Facebook and Twitter. Not many apps can do this these days 2. There is an inbuilt planner in the publisher section of the app so I don't have to us a planner app or website to plan my content posting 3. They have additional plugins (or app directory like they call it) that lets you add additional features like Streamchat's chatbots for Facebook Messenger that you can use from your Hootsuite dashboard. For free 4. The chrome extension Hootlet is amazing. It helps me schedule posts without visiting the website

Cons

1. Some Apps/plugins in Hootsuite costs money :(

Take your social media to the next level!

2018-05-01

I would even say that this tool is better than TweetDeck. Seriously.

Pros

Hootsuite is an important tool for my small business. My small team uses it to prepare content in advance, and then the content is published automatically at exact times/days. Not only that, Hootsuite helps me prepare reports such as a marketing and outreach summaries, tracking important statistics, etc, for me to compile and compare. When I purchased the software that was my biggest lure, being able to provide concrete data to my funders. Honestly, I highly recommend to anyone seriously wishing to expand their social media game and take it to the next level.

Cons

The biggest drawback to this software is definitely the price-point. Me being a small business owner, I'd love to see Hootsuite have more reasonable options available. That said, it's worth the investment, and at the end of the day that's whats most important, right?

Not a fan of the interface for using social media; more for publishing

2017-06-09

Pros

If you need something to let you manage a bunch of accounts, where you are mainly publishing and responding, or where you need to work with a team, Hootsuite might be pretty good.

Cons

For more straightforward/traditional use for reading the interface is incredibly cluttered and aggravating. Tweetdeck is better unless you have a specific use case.

One of the best tools out there

2018-09-20

Pros

I've been in SM for a long time and Hootsuite has been great to manage multiple Twitter accounts with ease. Now with Instagram support the workflow is more integrated.

Cons

Even with all its features, sometimes I find myself going back to similar online programs such as Twitter's own Tweetdeck; however since availability is limited that seems difficult.

Reliable and easy social media manager

2016-11-11

Hootsuite and Buffer are my go to social media, despite the several other SM Managers that I've tried out. I work with 5 brands and I have to manage their social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn) I've been using Hootsuite (and Buffer) for three years but of the two Hootsuite is my favorite and my safe bet. I have a habit of testing out as many free marketing software's as I can find and in terms of social media marketing Hootsuite is the best. The interface is easy to use, and the tutorial available to each new signup is very helpful. I love being able to tag a Facebook page, Twitter profile or Instagram profile in a post. The android app is also fully functional on my Kindle Fire (Unlike Buffer) which is a plus. The Feedly> Hootsuite integration is a major plus, I've never used the Hootsuite RSS feed option even though I keep planning to, but I like being able to share informative posts from feedly (On my Kindle Fire) to Hootsuite. What I love the best is that the free plan unlike buffer lets you schedule as many posts as you want to 3 social media profiles. This is great because I can schedule a month worth of social media posts in three days unlike the 10 posts per profile restriction on the Buffer's free plan. The analytics reports aren't very detailed and often I rely on Start a Fire as well as a variety of other software's to get in-depth analytics but the brands I work with do not understand or see the need for in-depth analysis so I suppose it's okay. I'm not happy that Hootsuite doesn't support posts with multiple images, I learnt that the awkward way when I made a post with 3 pictures. I recommend Hootsuite for beginners and Individuals who want a simple, straight forward social media manager. Oh, and the Hootsuite academy is very insightful.

Pros

I personally use Tweetdeck for social listening on Twitter but Hootsuite is also great for that.

Cons

I dont like the fact that if i want to schedule a post with multiple images i'll have to schedule it directly on Facebook or on Tweetdeck for twitter.

Newsrooms who don't use hootsuite are missing out

2019-04-06

After fixing Instagram issues, I can honestly say that Hootsuite is still one of the top social management tools one can use, especially smaller community papers who can't afford to buy higher-level social media management programs. Even if you're working for a bigger news company, the Hootsuite app is so easy to navigate compared to competitors' in a way that makes you keeping using Hootsuite even if you have paid company access to other programs.

Pros

Hootsuite is similar to its main competitor, Tweetdeck, in that you can have multiple channels running at once on different subjects or hashtags.

Cons

For several years, Hootsuite was unable to integrate creating organic Instagram posts within Hootsuite, and that grew very annoying, as one would have to create the post on another social media management platform and then edit and schedule within Hootsuite. Since Facebook bought Instagram, though, workarounds have made this much easier.
