In 2019, I started working for Landscape Design build firm that used Design only and have since lead the effort to implement Dynascape Manage  into our daily use and is now the primary system for our company to track clients, job flow, sales and job tracking.

It makes for a smooth workflow. Though there are built-in commands that are entirely unnecessary (such as zoom scrolling and panning) and commands that are very effective have to be built by hand (such as trimming, rotating, and mirroring). When it comes to exporting a plant picture catalogue, there can be improvements there. Upon the first screen after clicking the button, all plants are checked.

Dynascape seriously lacks usable options in the image libraries' and have not integrated any new images in several years (since I've been utilizing the software) and this is very disappointing, because "YOU" the designer are left to create your own images, details, and bank them in the library for future use.

We use Dynascape as the base software for all of our conceptual designs and for  our crews to use as contruction drawings.

The Downside for us is that we had to pay a lot of money for the Dynascape Design Software which we barely even use anymore except for the occasional quickie 2D design for the customer who is not on-board with the cost of a 3d design.  

Also, coming from CAD and other software, there was a "jump" feature for lines that would allow you to set a distance from a point on a line to jump "X" distance.

I like the integration of Design and Manage, quickly developing proposals, estimates and job tracking directly from the design.

Generally, updates to all 2D figures to add more modern designs (ie 2D arbours, sheds, pergolas,gates);  Very outdated styles.

We have only had the 1 big issue with the 1 image file that wasn't compatible with Design Color and just 2 minor questions about the program/licenses.

It didn't sit well with me. If you are going to have a monthly pricing model then make it easy for people to start and stop their subscriptions - this would also make the software more accessible to more people.

Dynascape does make drawing designs fast and easy and enables me to present a professional finished plan to my clients.

A non-intuitive program that delivers on what is needed and offers the theoretical ability to go from design to finished proposal and take-off.  

Planting features are fantastic - the database, ability to create your own dbase with lists and pictures is critical.

It used to be available as a one time license and as with most software companies,  they've gone to a monthly model - but still ding you with a big upfront fee on top of that too, which seems a bit excessive considering the age of the software.  

Manage 360 is awesome for the operations of our company, and the fact that Design is linked to it for ease in estimating is a great feature.

uploading JPEGs etc is tedious and needs streamlining and resizing capabilities on the drawing without have to always go back to square one to make a change.

Therefore, 80-90% of our usage is only for the Sketch 3D library; which to its credit, I could not produce nice 3D Sketchup designs without.  

I wish the software was more customizable for individual users as far as shortcuts and custom libraries for plants and symbols.

The dimension tool is not very user friendly and you cannot adjust the text displayed (it will show a measurement to the 1/10th of an inch and that is simply not necessary).

The detail that can be incorporated into my plans provides an excellent tool for my clients to understand and see our design intent.  

I lost count of how many times i lost work because it didn’t auto save. Or how many times i had to restart the software because it freezes while trying to finish a task.

The image library, pre-made layers, and building tool are the best features of this software.

Random errors like this occur frequently during use of larger project designs, which is why I mainly use this program for small residential designs.

It would also be nice to have more and updated construction details for landscape products in the industry, or be able to import them for construction details instead of having to draw them.

I don't understand why you don't try to get a crowd sourcing community that could add figures and swatch's and you could collect them and come out with a update each quarter?  

It has has stability issues in the past and has lagged behind other software companies who have invested time and money into things like user interface, added functionality and cross platform compatability.  

I  Initially purchased it outright, And then the model was changed to a monthly fee model on top of that,  Where I Is had a choice of no support or pay the fee.

Lastly, you have to FURTHER purchase a rendering software if you want the photo-realistic renderings that are advertised.  

There is no intuitive interface, and it shows it age with the inability to seamlessly edit or modify any of the layers.

The estimating system along with Change Orders has made us better at estimating accurately and more profitable as a company.

What I liked most about this software is that it was easy for my Jr Landscape Designer, who had never used Dynascape before, do a whole drawing and colour within a week and a half.

The graphics are amazing, clear and artistic which helps the customers visualize the ideas on the paper.

I have had difficulty with customer service not being able to solve issues with my subscription showing as inactive when it should be current and active.

Following the tutorials for Dynascape Design, I was able to learn this software on my own and get up and running in a short amount of time.

The data base for bidding and job reports is also old time nonsense crammed into a semi-modern package.

Great, glad to be able to use a CAD based software to promote design services as well as having good documents in the field while building.   

I like the integration of a comprehensive plant database and auto generation of plant lists.
