I also want to mention the updates  the data connection is limited, and with weekly updates this often causes incorrect hour calculations for drivers. When it comes to hours, this is a real issue, especially because Samsara is considered one of the best ELD devices in the USA, and my company uses it mainly because the logs cannot be edited. Because of that, Samsara should improve its services and make things easier for drivers, not force them to do “math problems” just to guess how many hours they will have. And with constant updates, there’s always a risk that the logbook won’t work the way it should.

I don't like the battery life on the AG-51 asset tracker when it comes to unpowered fleet assets that are on the road for extended periods of time as the batteries would die and would cause us to lose tracking on assets until batteries could be replaced.

The video system is also a big plus because it helps clear up incidents quickly and provides protection for both the company and the driver if something happens on the road.

I like that all our assets are in one place with a lot of different options like to check Maintenace, where they are at all times, and have different things that it will ping them for like not wearing a seatbelt.

The fact that once it was back up, it back-filled our drivers logs was impressive and sure saved companies a ton of time and extra work to ensure drivers logs were legal and correct.

It is integrated with every department of the company from Operations, Safety & Compliance, Maintenance and Billing.

so like any company I know, they decided to turn it into another separate subscription. As if paying 1000s already wasn't enough for our company, if we want to use this document tracker, we need to pay more - not cool.

Samsara is a premium price - it gets expensive for small fleets - but the biggest issue is that they continue to come out with features and want to nickel and dime for every feature.
