Sima overview
What is Sima?
Active Witness is a developer of cloud-based Access Control systems. Active Witness' integrated hardware and software allow business owners and facility managers to administer facility access from anywhere, at any time, from any device.
The technology uses both single and multi-factor credentials for highly secure, yet frictionless facility access. Active Witness achieves this through the use of QR codes and facial verification. Administrators of facility security can customize levels of access for various employees and access points. The cloud-based software enables administration to be performed from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.
The days of legacy keycards and expensive on-site server-based solutions are over. Keycards can be easily replicated or stolen. While on-site servers are expensive to implement and cumbersome to maintain.
That is why Active Witness utilizes highly secure mobile credentials and two-factor facial verification. It achieves this by administering access to users that present a valid QR code to the door sensor and can validate their identity through a facial biometric scan, providing an exact 1:1 match.
How does Facial Verification work?
First, a user must present their access credential to the hardware door reader, in this case, a QR code, which can be obtained through the Active Witness mobile app.
Next, the user must verify their identity by presenting their face to the reader, next. Once their identity has been verified by the cloud-based software, the system tells the door to unlock.
Simply put, Active Witness provides facility managers with an easy-to-use, highly secure, remote facility access management solution that can be accessed from any device. Our hardware is a plug & play door reader that connects directly to any electric strike (or electrified lock, or maglock). It connects to the internet and power via Power Over Ethernet (POE). This allows the door reader to retrieve power and internet connectivity from the same connection, reducing complexity and lowering implementation costs. POE-based systems require less wiring and can be set up much more easily as there are no on-site servers to be installed or maintained and require much less wiring.
If you're looking for a stand-alone Access Control system that will simplify your facility security and do more than just keep people out, look no further.
