We use Float to plan our 1 week sprints. Everyone in the team is in the tool and we plan bi-weekly and update our tasks as needed. I like the tool and the visual, but I have found more success in planning sprints through a tool like Jira where you can add story points, estimate work better and hold people and teams accountable when they don't delivery on time repeatedly.
I like the drag and drop ease of use and the visual status screens that can be configured by team or specific members to get a high level overview of the week for planning
I don't like the lack of trace ability within the tool. I have found from using the tool that it is very to simply push tasks back sprint to sprint without ever really being able to see how often this is happening. It's hard to hold team members accountable to their commitments without a history of on time success for different tasks.

A prominent feature is the ability to integrate with other project management and communication tools. This has greatly facilitated collaboration between teams and synchronization of important information on a single platform. Additionally, the option to make bulk edits to project plans has simplified the process of updating and adjusting, saving me a lot of time and effort.
What I like the most is its intuitive and easy-to-use interface. I love how visual it is, with bright, light colors that make planning very visual and easy to understand. Also, I love the real-time view of team members' availability, including holidays and time off. This helps me assign tasks effectively and ensures that I don't overburden any team member.
While this platform offers a lot of useful features, there are a few areas where I feel like it could use some improvement. One of them is the lack of a built-in time tracking feature. While I can assign tasks and see my team's availability, I can't track the time spent on each task within the platform. This requires you to use an additional tool to track and record the time spent on each task.

Hi Francesca, Thanks so much for your review! There is a CVS import option for your people/projects, including updating your existing people and projects directly via the template. This option is available in the top right corner of your people and projects tab in Float. If you have any other questions, please email support@float.com and we'd be happy to help!

What sets this project management software apart is its exceptional user interface. Navigating through tasks, timelines, and reports feels intuitive and user-friendly. The visual representation of project timelines and progress is a standout feature, making it easy to grasp project status at a glance. This visual clarity has significantly enhanced our project planning and decision-making processes. With this software, complexity is simplified, and managing even intricate projects becomes a breez
In my experience with Float, the aspect that has the most potential for growth is the mobile app. While functional, it could benefit from more robust features and smoother navigation. Real-time updates and more comprehensive task management capabilities on the mobile platform would greatly enhance the product's utility for users on the go. Despite this, Float's desktop version remains a reliable tool for managing schedules and projects effectively.

Easy visual scheduling for the team
We love the easy drag and drop interface, the ease of use of the whole system, the API allowing us to create/sync projects and tasks from our project management system, and the ability for our team to sync their Float schedule to their iOS or Exchange calendars via the iCal feed.
We think there are some minor things that would make the software even easier to use missing from it: - ability to drag and drop to copy a schedule from one person/resource to another (not just reallocate) - ability to see Notes on a project by hovering over the quick note icon on the schedule - ability to see confirmed appointments vs tentative (clients are using colours to do this at the moment)

Quick to use and administrate. Great for transposing project plans into a simple, calendar based format for staff to see what they're working on.
Float is very powerful, easy to use at a glance, and not bloated with too many features.
The functionality around planning for unconfirmed projects that are in the pipeline could be improved to allow for better scenario planning. We use various workarounds for this at the moment.

I wish it integrated with more systems for seamless scheduling/planning.
Thanks for the review! Please feel welcome to send us your integration requests to support@float.com. This year we've introduced dedicated integrations with Google Calendar, Outlook and Teamwork. Orgnisation and time planning
Float gives me a great overview of what's on today's schedule. The tool is customizable and can fit my agency's needs.
The notifications are somewhat inconsistent and I believe that they can be optimized even more. Perhaps a Slack integration would be cool?

As always, coordinating between projects, especially in consulting, can be difficult. We started using Float last year to support our firm's efforts across multiple client projects. Generally speaking, it's been a pleasure using Float to better manage project timelines. In particular, my firm's managers appreciate Float's ability to make resource management easy to visualize and understand with a quick glance.
Overall, the visual resource planning with Float is superb. It's very easy for our teams to track progress across projects. Project managers have high transparency and visibility into 'resource' (aka analyst/associate) staffing, and this has made delivering projects on time much easier than before. Assigning resources between team members is also very easy.
There was a slight learning curve for some of our team members, but that's really the only drawback we experienced.

Logging our time has given us insights into where our time is spent, allowing us to create more accurate projections in the future.
The calendar-style view is intuitive and makes planning future weeks/months quick and easy. It's great for high-level planning.
I wish there was better functionality/visibility when setting upcoming milestones and deadlines.
Thank you for your review, Mark!

We need to task/resource manage on a minute by minute basis to keep up with ever changing deadlines.
Good visual layout and intuitive design.
Lacking a lot of functionality. Copying tasks and not having more administrative control over users is difficult and counter productive.

Individual project planning improved thanks to Float.
The interface is clear and pleasant. I like the ability to track the tasks that are assigned to me and at the same time have an overview of all the projects assigned to each resource. I find the log function very useful to record daily the actual tasks and duration.
It would be useful to have the ability to manage the projects according to the teams and track projects status.

Team management has always been quite messy on our teams, and no overall was available with Notes calendar, so Float has been worshiped when we got it
Overall planning for teams, easy day-by-day task management, task categories, project / customer management, api to retrieve planning on other software (such as notes calendar)
Still quite difficult to manage 1/2 day task, no way to plan meeting easily
