Do not expect timely responses to issues – after not receiving a response from their IT department regarding website interface issues I had to hire a website developer to figure out a band aide solution.

The constant computer crashes, lost tickets, not for high volume restaurants.

The staff are very helpful but there needs to be a better internal system to let staff know who is helping which customers and the particular issue that is being resolved.

The cut off time is 6pm and every bar/restaurant is open past that which means we won't see funds for 2 days.

Terminals don't hold cellular as well as handhelds.

System doesn't allow even the most basic functions of a POS.

She helped me resolve a transition issue from my old POS and allowed us to close the book on it completely.

Our GM spends nearly 12 hours a week figuring out issues, calling CS and dealing with the constant problems.

We were told no contracts and that we could stop at any time but then we had to get new equipment which meant we had to sign a contract.

We entered into an agreement with SpotOn under the promise of a comprehensive food truck setup and a system that would function without internet connectivity.

The East European code slingers that maintain Spoton have built a runaway software "system" that makes a restaurant's job harder - not easier.

I don't like that there's three different websites (BOH, reporting, Dashboard) and then another if you get gift cards (through ECS.)

Every interaction with any team member, sales, installation, or on zoom conference has been pleasant and professional.

The handheld devices are cumbersome and have connectivity issues.

We do not have a kids menu at all, and there were chicken tenders listed as a kids menu item available to order online.

We built a new restaurant and made the mistake of sticking with Spoton.

Would like a little more flexabilty on the "Tip" suggestion/option on handhelds.  

Additionally, there were menu items listed for our online ordering that we do not even sell at our restaurant.

The device will take orders but the process to create the order is a multi step process and when  you are busy this increases the stress. Plus the device has a scanner but will not scan upc codes, so you can't use this to process order without manual entry and that is not efficient.

You call or email and when you speak with someone, it's not to solve your problem but is instead to set up an appointment for someone to diagnose your issue. If you need urgent help, forget it.

Growth and Development

Support team other than [sensitive content hidden] are not helpful and rarely know what is going on nor are they able to help in most situations.

I also didn't like that we didn't see deposits for 48 hours later.

It has been a real pleasure meeting people and working together to achieve our goal of an amazing, efficient and simple POS system.

He has helped us troubleshoot and resolve some printer issues (hardware), and worked through some programming issues (software) with our integration to R365 accounting.  

The customer info is hard, I wish the phone number name and address would automatically pop up.

I'm not sure if it's the fact that we were with our old system for many years prior and we were used to it, but relearning was the hardest part.

I am not happy with how there is little to no support with the integrations with SpotOn, specifically with ShoGo.

No bank transfer of funds on Friday evening. When we started we got Friday's transfer on Saturday.

The labor reporting, clock-in, and clock-out features could be much better.

Their hardware setup is reliable and easy to use, and everything integrates smoothly — from POS to marketing.

In this industry cash flow is everything and this caused a lot of problems financially.

Everything went well for a few months until I looked at my bank statement and saw that they started charging me more for the same program.

We also had them develop a logo and  website for us and the first logo they sent us looked like a 12 year hand drawn, shadow text of our business name.  

Effective and in point and has tons of options for my restaurant, customer service is outstanding, back up router is a huge plus when the Internet goes down you can still be able to operate

Additionally, having to access multiple websites for different items is inconvenient.
